What a world we live in. Sounds like the Nazi's or the Soviet's.
Oops, I guess I'll be getting a knock on the door!

Quoted from OP link,
"Bradshaw acknowledged the risk that anyone in a messy divorce or in a dispute with a neighbor could abuse the hotline. But, he said, he’s confident that his trained professionals will know how to sort out fact from fiction.
“We know how to sift through frivolous complaints,” he said."
So my question is......................................How do they know?

Didn't some old lady recently get gunned down during a wellness check?
IMHO - Stormtroopers and person of interest lists aren't solutions to mental health issues.

That is my thought as well. Any person in an acting class could come up with the credibility needed to convince authorities that another person is acting strangely. On top of that, it is not only the mentally ill which go about committing these crimes. All it takes is one thing to go the wrong way at just the right time and someone could snap. Don't we hear stories about that sort all the time? "Oh he was a sweet, attentive husband" and "she was the most doting mother and wife" and then half of their families turn up murdered. We do not need a police state. It won't help the situation at all. I fear it will only make more of a mess of things.

To play the devil's advocate:
Isn't this what we all have been wanting instead of stricter gun laws? Go after the mentally unstable, right? Well, here it is.

If they really wanted to crack down on potential future possible violence all they have to do is monitor wacko forums, especially those promoting guns on the street. Oops, too late, they already are!
