Summary: Eagle Scout forgets his shotgun in his trunk after going skeet shooting over the weekend, tries to do the right thing and calls his mom from school to come get it, and winds up being arrested and originally in threat of denied graduation (he is a Senior).

By God's grace, the story actually has a happy ending. Not because the school officials or the police had a change of heart, but because Jerry Falwell, Jr. at Liberty University heard about his situation. Read on ...

Agreed, good for Liberty University. And thanks for the posting; I didn't know they reached out to him.

FYI Liberty is also one of the very few universities across the country that allows for concealed carry by students on campus.

Seems like people think more clearly and logically when they are walking in the light of Jesus, doesn't it?

I found the Lord May 18, 1972 ... and I can't say that it's altered my ability to enjoy life to the fullest one single bit.

I have worked in the education/social services industry for over 20 years. They really don't know what they are doing, most have skewed thinking so don't expect them to do the right thing. They can't figure out how to control the trouble makers, this guy was an easy target. Helps to make them look like they are doing something.

No disrespect whatsoever intended, RevRay, but I feel the need to answer/voice my opinion.

I abandoned my belief in that lord in 1968 for what I consider cause and it has enhanced my ability to enjoy life to its fullest.

edit...realizing I appeared caustic: Didn't really mean to. I wish well to and sometimes envy those who can believe and take comfort. Would I could be that, but I'm not. I do abide by the basic ethics and morals of my Christian upbringing, however.

Continued off topic, but I get my turn. The Bible never promised there wouldn't be heartache or tragedy or whatever your "cause" may be. I currently have joy and peace that most people can't understand. I would rather live death to the fullest (forever) when I see my Lord. By God's grace, I hope that is later rather than sooner, only because the process of death is not a pleasant thing and I desire to provide for my family for as long as I can.
