I have a k9 which I can not say enough good things about it! But as I'm sure we all do I am getting the itch to start looking for a new gun. Not out of necessity just Want. A couple months ago my wife got a cm9. I have carried the gun on a few occasions which I think is the reason for my current situation. I like polymer guns "really like my m&p pro9" but I do favor the steal guns "pistol or revolver". I have really been itching to start tracking down a mk9 but at the same time I keep thinking the mk9 is not really that much easier to conceal than my k9. Lol seems like a lot of talk just to ask a question.

I first got a mk9 then a mk40 just out of want. Look at all the people that have multiple 1911's because they want them. I will probably some day get a K9 because I want it a good reason.

For belt carry, I've often thought I should have gotten the K40 instead of the MK.
But the MK micro adds the options of ankle and pocket carry.
Although heavy in the pocket.
If I wear a gun belt and use a DeSantis Super Fly holster it's no problemo.

We will never judge you negatively for wanting to buy another gun. No matter what anyone says, its always favorable to buy the gun.

I love the steel Kahrs and I don't think you can go wrong owning different types! Here is my collection!

If you find one, get it. IMO, it makes a great appendix carry pistol.

Buy the MK9 for your wife or girlfriend and then you can "borrow it" once in a while.

I don't think it's wrong to want the MK. That's why Kahr made it. :D

I was looking for a K9 when I found my MK9. Glad I did because I love it. Don't really feel the need for both that and a K9 though. I did get a K40 and I'm glad I got the larger gun in that caliber. Now I just need a K45 (hear that Kahr -- I know I'm not alone). If you get both the K9 and the MK9, I'll be interested to hear which one you prefer.

Since the MK9 is only 0.70" less in length, only 0.50" less in height and only 1 ounce lighter than the K9, I'm not really sure I could see a practical purpose in having one of each. There is, of course, the totally impractical reason of just having one of every model that Kahr makes. ;)
I have a K9 and a PM9. The PM9 is virtually identical in dimension to the MK9, except that it weighs half a pound (a full 8 ounces) less. Since there is a substantial weight difference between the K9 and the PM9, they serve distinctly different roles (for me).

Sign me up for the K45. I bought a K9 the year they came out and it's the only gun I would never sell.

Kahr makes all Stainless 40s.
And polymer 45s.
Why not an all Stainless K45/MK45???
I keep almost buying an all stainless 1911, but don't really like SA guns.
I keep wanting, and waiting, for a Kahr Stainless 45.
XDs 45s are selling.
And I'd much rather have a MK45.
I'm officially putting in my pre-release order for a MK45 Elite with NS.
All this pup needs is a stainless frame. I'm just saying...

In my experience, I have found that the shorter grip of the MK makes it easier to conceal than the K9. Now, if they only made a K9 Covert. They did, in the past, make a K40 Covert and a P9 Covert. I do have a P9 Covert.
If they made a K9 Covert, I would have purchased that instead of the MK9 that I opted for instead of the K9.

I've been asking for an MK45 for a long time. It would seem a natural because of the extra weight over the PM45, but for now, I'll have to be satisfied with my MK40.

I was looking for a mk series and know one around here stocks them, ran into a used black k9 for $400, I decided to buy it as a way to try out the stainless line from Kahr before ordering a mk series. Loved the k9 so much I decided to order the mk9, lowest quote I got on one was $890.00 for the elite 03 with night sights. then I happened across a new MK40 elite 03 with night sights for $705.00 and couldn't refuse a deal like that! the wife now has the k9 and I carry the mk40 :)
Tickled pink, couldn't be happier about my purchases!

If anyone else is drooling over the MK9, I might be persuaded to sell mine. I love it, and would be happy to keep it, but my safe is getting pretty full and it deserves to be owned by someone who will use it more than I do.

JohnR sounds like me when I go to the "Bob Armory" and see gun cases piled up like cordwood. You know it's bad when you start forgetting what you own.
I started out first buying the MK40. It shot so damn good, I was compelled to go to the next size.
Could you live without it? Yes, but why? I sometimes carry the MK40 in one of those UTG discreet agenda cases or carry it on my waist w/o a holster. The "K" has a straight drop holster I bought for it, but it carries almost as easy as the MK, almost.
It's like the difference between a Walther PP compared to the PPK. Although the the size seems to be close between the MK and K, the the MK just works out better for concealment.
Message JohnR or look on your own. You wouldn't regret having both.

I only have 14 handguns and I can still remember what I have :)
The MK9 is one of my favorites. I also have a PM9...

I thought the same thing over a decade ago. I ended up buy an MK9 as well because you know, when my K9 was "too big" to carry. I was wrong, the weight of the MK9 made it no easier to carry than the K9 except in my pocket, but there it beat the hell out of my leg when I walked.... the constant slap on the thigh with every step.
I ended up selling the MK9, then later I gave in to the dark side and finally got a Glock  by trading my K9.
I wouldn't mind having a K9 again, in fact I have an LWS380 for trade or sale...:D
