Well sadly our governor's huge gun control bill passed in Maryland, ref: http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=17830 and http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=17985
We were able to water it down a bit, but it still bans a huge number of new previously legal guns as "assault weapons", it requires a fingerprinting (like sex offenders) and registration with a license and fee for all citizens who want to buy any gun in the future, reduces magazine capacity down to 10 rounds for all firearms, and many other bad things. It's right up there with New York's gun grabbing bill.
Warning: Governor O'Malley is already preparing to run for President in 2016 so he's coming to a primary near you soon! In addition to his anti-gun stance, he pushed through legislation that: grants in-state tuition for illegal aliens, legalized same sex marriage, legalized smoking pot under certain circumstances with no corresponding restrictions on driving stoned on Maryland roads, raised taxes well over 30 times, promised not to touch our so-called "Trust Funds" (Education, Transportation, Environmental, etc.) then raids those funds annually for his profligate spending elsewhere while simultaneously crying crocodile tears for the poverty of those Trust Funds, etc. We even have a new "tax on a tax" in that we'll be adding sales taxes to gasoline where the largest single component in that price is already a fixed state gas tax per gallon. His most recent tax is a tax on the rain - you might have seen that in the national media last month.
I wouldn't normally go on like that but I think it falls under the forum's political rules given his extreme anti-2A stance and that you will all have a chance to cast your ballot for him in the 2016 primaries.

On a more pleasant topic, my own county within Maryland has banned electronic control devices (e.g. Tasers) for decades. If we can't have a gun (MD is a restrictive May Issue state) we should at least be able to carry an ECD. Fortunately just last night our county council voted to legalize these devices. I got interviewed for the story, ref: http://baltimore.cbslocal.com/2013/05/06/anne-arundel-county-lifts-ban-on-tasers-stun-guns-for-residents/
There is a typo - I can assure you that I did NOT say "without a took at our disposal". :) But you can see what I really said in the embedded video. (Interesting: they interviewed me for two minutes of video then used only two sentences out of that interview. But I sorta knew they'd only pull a very brief sound bite out of the fuller context so no real surprises on my part.)
