Well finally did it got Buzzy to the range with his new CW45. I was a little concerned about the recoil on this polymer gun. Before shooting it was taken down to bare bones cleaned and polished the other thing was to make it a 3 dot sight so for that removed the rear sight and put two divots on opposite side polished and deburred and reblued a little white paint that was done, the other thing was to put some orange paint on the front dot, Now the big day was to shoot it. Now I have never shot 45 less than a all steal 1911 so this all new to me, I thought this gun may kick like a mule but to my surprised I thought it shot like a pussycat. It did take a little getting used to getting my hand wrapped around the front of the grip, that’s a matter of practice still had to work my hand to a comfortable place on the grip. A when the first pull of the trigger happened I was surprised that this gun was not bat at all. We started at 7 yards and went out to 15 yards. Man I was having fun shooting this of course I had to let Buzzy shoot it too or maybe the other way around. Send 100 rounds thru it we did have 3 failures to fire out of 100, now the funny thing is on the first time it did it pulled the round and saw there was no mark on the primer at all and on the second and third round we just pulled the side back far enough to cock the striker and it went off. We came home and tore everything down didn’t see any thing funny on anything inside. Don’t remember anyone ever saying fail to fire, if anyone has a idea let us know. I know with my CM9 I never had that happen so I’m not really sure what caused that. So with all that said and done I got a kick out of seeing Buzzy shoot the CW45, he didn’t do bad it does take time to got the hang of the Kahr trigger but when the skill is acquired it’s there for life. It all takes time and determination and of course lots of not so easy to get ammo. The 2 targets you see are the first 2 mags out of the gun at 7 yards the one on the left is mine and on the right is Buzzy, not to bad for the very first rounds out of the gun. As time went on Buzzy was really getting the hang of it as can be seen on the black target (that’s a homemade shoot and see I’ll put a thread up on that latter) that target was 10 yards and 2 mags very large holes. All in all I would give this CW45 two thumbs up

if i had four thumbs it would be four thumbs up! this gun is nice!
as seen on the targets i`m pulling a bit low and right, i promise to do better next time.
as for the fail to fires, i`m wondering if it might be a failure to seat in the chamber issue;
i saw here (somewhere) that there has been issues with oal with reloads and even some factory loads,we`ll take a look at that this afternoon.

in memory of great-grammy, never understood a word she yelled in polish, but we all new what she meant!

Are you left handed buzzard? I think Harrylee has the description backwards, he's on the left, your on the right?

That would be very normal for a lefty, a righty usually shoots low and left.

None the less, your getting it and a little more trigger time will make it nothing but better.

Great idea on the shoot and see targets Harry, well done.

good point colonel.I bein a lefty shoot groups low and right, cours eI also shoot groups low and left. Never once shot a group low and high though. That pattern is indicative (wow big word) of a lefty. Just sayin

by the way colonel INDICATIVE by Websters version means "giving an indication" or to be a sign of".. this is for u "low information"people, not the 53% who really can read and understand. Just sayin:Amflag2:

all shots right handed with "push-pull" grip. i am however somewhat ambidextrous (had to check the spelling on that one). i used to practice writing left hand, and i can shoot my cousin`s lefty bow purty good. pulling low/right i think was me anticipating the recoil, just need more practice, now which store has ammo? answer none!

The FTF with no primer strike was probably not allowing the trigger all the way forward to reset. A firmer grip takes some getting used to to remember to really relax the trigger finger all the way.

Though I suppose the way you cleared it it might also have been failure to return to battery which could be an ammo/throat depth issue.

50 more rounds wed., only one failure to fire, this time a dimple in the primer was evident. carefully placed back into chamber and bang. so i guess all is good.
only 50 ya say? it`s all i had .:(
500 coming soon (tomorrow?):D
ammo is here, (cough,cough,sneeze,sniffle)
boss, i ain`t feelin` so good can i have the day off?:p

oh, missed the last reply, should teach me to type a little s-l-o-w-e-r.
First time out i was concentrating on a good tight grip and the feel of the gun, letting trigger finger relax for a couple of seconds and re-aiming. wasn`t really trying for bullseyes, just trying to keep it on paper.
pistol shooting is still fairly new to me, lots of rifle and shotgun( not biden approved doubles though ).
As for the f.t.fires, they were all reloads so an occasional missfire or improper seat, well, it happens (occasionally).:yo:

Had a day off, so of course I went to the range.
I sent 150 rounds thru the cw45, and three of the jhp,sd that I could spare.
First three were the jhp`s, had one stove pipe.
I had two more stove pipe in the other 150, not totally out of reason, considering this is only 300 rounds, just barely broke in.
As I was cleaning it I saw some damage (wear?) on the small metal insert at the back of the receiver, only on one side. I found an older post here where someone else reported similar damage/wear.
I was wondering if anyone else has seen similar wear/damage.
As for the stove piping, could it be the ejector is out of specs. perhaps?
I took a dummy round and slipped it into the slide and noticed that the ejector was holding it at an angle, I could easily wiggle it into alignment with the barrel, but every time I put it in, it would always go to an angle, does this sound normal?
The ejector sits parallel and slightly recessed in the slide when empty, when loaded, it`s still recessed, and slightly angled. Compared to a cm9 (harrylee`s), it looks ok, except that the cm9`s ejector is flush when empty, and protruding when loaded. Just wondering if that`s normal for the cw45.

had some time for about 150 rounds at the range.
a few fte`s but probably just the cheap ammo (230 fmj federal)
not too bad for beginner at 15 & 25 yards

now the twist, the last batch is left hand at 7 yards

think i should switch to being a south paw?

Gee I can't even sign a letter left handed. Not bad Buzzy not to mention the 45 is the best caliber some may differ but it has been around for a long time and it was designed to stop. But the big question if that target was on a barn could you hit the broad side of the barn?

Bawanna

I need more information. Am I inside the barn or outside. How big is the barn. How far away from the barn am I?

Any specific part of the barn I gotta hit or will anywhere do.

And perhaps the most important question is. Is the Barn Door shut or open, could cause a miss.

nearest barn is `bout 300 yards, 40 or so ft. wide, maybe 30 ft. tall.
doors and windows appear closed.
give me a hundred rounds and i`ll bet ya a plug nickel i`ll hit at least once:86:
