I currently carry a Kahr CW9 in a kydex PJ holster i love it for quick on off and comfort but i need something different to help me with summertime/t-shirt concealment

I want to try something that holds the gun higher up my back, so i'm thinking about a hybrid. the reason behind this is i think that with my body shape and the way the clothes fit i think that it would be easier to conceal.

Im really thinking about buying the old faithful kit to put together myself because it is so cheap, i would like a comptac but i would rather buy a holster that is almost as good for half the money and be able to buy ammo

will the old faithful, or any hybrid hold the gun higher?

thanks guys

In my experience no. Hybrid type holsters will ride at belt height, with a little bit of room for adjustment. Based on the two hybrid holsters I run. The Concealment Solutions mini Mamba and N82 Tactical Professional holster. Both are outstanding holsters btw.

As long as you use a good gun belt, there are high riding pancake holsters that carry the gun so that hardly anything goes below the bottom of the belt. The UBG Bonneville (http://www.ubgholsters.com/owb.htm) is an excellent choice.

Well...yeah! The UBG Bonneville is an OWB holster. Why do you want to know?

The problem with high riding things and some guns, if they end up being small guns, they have a hard time staying against the body. The gun behind and below the belt it some of what helps keep a pistol against the body and concealed. IF you are looking to wear it higher a belly band/some version of that might work well. All the hybrid types can adjust for ride height (that I know of) so there is always that option depending on how high you want it to ride.
