I will be buying a P380 in a few weeks and I have three questions about the magazines. Does it come with one or two magazines, my new PM9 came with two. If it comes with one, how long would it take to order more from Kahr....and is there a suitable after market magazine for the P380 and PM9? Thanks!

Hi, Charlie'. Ivanhoe has some of the best prices and quickest service and shipping. Their shipping is $5 for your whole order and arrives quickly by USPS Priority mail. They seem to have the P380 6-round mags, but no 7-rounders!

The P380 comes with one 6-round and one 7-round extended-grip mags. The 7-rounders are good for the range and I carry them for reloads.

I was kinda irked to get one 6-rounder and one 7-rounder with my P380. The pistol is a hideout gun, and I have no use for an extended mag except at the range. I tried to order a spare 6-rounder from Midway but they were perpetually out of stock, so I paid full retail for one at my LGS. Thanks for the link above, I might get another spare (or two).

And no, nobody to my knowledge makes aftermarket mags for Kahrs.

u spend good mopney for spare magazine, MAKE sure the gun is reliable. It comes with two magts, so that willbe one more than actually needed IMO. do the propper prpe thread to and the kahr lube chart, prepare the gun before that first round is ever shot and u might just love this little gun w\hen it per45forms as designed, but IMO I owuld wait before spending more buks on maybe sumpin that doesn't please u. Just sayin:Amflag2:

betif u email Jay at kahr and ask if u can send back the 7 round mag in exchange for a 6 round, they might just accomadte u. I don't havbe any use for my7 rounder in my PMJ9 kahrs but many like um so it is what it is.

Kahr has been pretty good about exchanging mags when asked properly..:Amflag2: eamils don't cost jack sh!t either..

Having more magazines is better. Stuff breaks or gets lost. Do you drive around or take trips without a spare tire?

Carrying a reload is smart. if you have a struggle and lose your ONE magazine somehow... you have a one-shooter or a small rock for a weapon... especially if you carry with NO round in the chamber... an UNLOADED gun!

It's smart to have several flush-fitting mags for CCW, but I like a "high-capacity" magazine for a spare... though for Kahrs... that usually means only one or two more rounds.

check the Non-firearms for Sale (http://www.kahrtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=23)
area to see if any of your fellow KahrTalk members have any for sale.
I always check the forums first when looking for something.:D

You always need to have at least a couple of spare mags for any firearm you own. If the weapon suddenly starts giving fits you'll have no way of knowing if it's the mag at fault otherwise. People keep forgetting that mags are not designed to last the life of the firearm, and eventually you're going to need to replace it.

It comes with two, but the Kahr website (http://www.kahr.com/Pistols/Kahr-P380.asp) is misleading. The product description indicates the P380 ships with two 6-round magazines. Mine arrived with one 6-round mag and one 7-round mag. I pointed-out the discrepancy to Kahr Customer Service, in a polite email, and they swapped the 7-round mag for a 6-rounder. That was last year. Interestingly the website still shows the gun ships with two 6-round mags. Perhaps, now, it does. Please let us know, after you get yours.

No. Not that I'm aware of.

Replacement mags are sold online from several sources, when stock is available. Check Ivanhoe, MidwayUSA and Brownells.

GrabAGun.com has them in stock for about $33 and free shipping. They also have a P380 with night sights for $610 plus $5.99 shipping. They are a great company. I have ordered 3 guns from them in the last year.

My recent P380 purchase, RD serial number included a 6 round and 7 round magazine. I bought a couple of extra 6 round magazines for when the factory mag malfunctions, breaks, is lost, wears out, etc.

The P380 (RD02##) that I purchased a couple of weeks ago came with one 6-round mag and one 7-round mag. The S/N suggests very recent production and the LGS (an official Kahr dealer) said it was one of five P380's received from Kahr that day.

It certainly appears that one 6-round mag and one 7-round mag is the standard, despite what the Kahr website shows.

Just my experience; YMMV.

Kalifornia Kahrs come with one 6 round magazine, and a dummy plastic gizmo to use when disassembling the gun (because of the magazine disconnect). $700 gun comes with 1 magazine. Go figure.
