Index Finger Rest? ...

I just acquired a nice new, all-black, Kahr PM9 DLC and I'm awaiting arrival of a Crimson-Trace LG-437. I also purchased a LaserLyte 9mm training cartridge and interactive dual-target system. (er, practice ammo's really expensive these days and, besides, I DO like to 'dry-fire' with something that 'cushions' the striker pin!)

Anyway, as I'm 'breaking in' my PM9, I thought it would be nice if Kahr had a place to rest my index (trigger) finger at ALL times when my sights aren't on the target. (Jeff Cooper's Rule No.3!)

Then it occurred to me that there IS a nice spot on the LG-437, ...

... so I 'ginned-up' the following image to check out 'the look.'

FWIW, one of the materials I'm considering for this rest is an elliptical piece of Velco. IMHO, this stuff yields unique tactile feedback w/o being too abrasive!

What do you all think of this idea?

Velcro... the hook part... might grab onto something and interfere with drawing the pistol. There must be some kind of sticky-sided pad that would work, though.

Yep! 'Thought of that and, of course, I'm referring to the 'obverse' LOOP material to which the 'hooks' adhere.

If you have some Velcro around the house, grab a piece of this stuff and run youe finger over it - unique, huh?

Anyway, I have YET to find any material, per se, that sticks to the LOOP side of a Vecro pad ...

That looks like it would work wonderfully. I have a CT on my PM9 and it does make a nice finger rest. If that would help you feel confident your finger is where you think it should be, go for it.

Try to find some mole skin and see how you like the feel of it over the Velcro. Not sure if it comes in black, though.

I think his name even is bonzo or who was Tarzan's monkey's name. Lot of resembleance there I think. Besides that the monkey is shootng RH and ol jocko is LH. Ooops I think ovomit is LH also. damn.
