I was wondering about the magazines that come with the P9.
Mine came with a standard 7 round magazine and the second was a 7 round magazine with the grip extension.
Should it have come with 2 standard mags?

Yes, that is correct. Check out the Kahr web site.

Kahr Arms / 9mm Models / P9 Series (http://www.kahr.com/PA-1_9mm_p.html)

Click on Specifications it will compare several models including the P9. I used the Kahr site to compare different models for month on end before I bought my CW9.

So then should I be worried that this one has the wrong magazine?
I mean, what else could have been swapped out.

I believe the one with the grip extension is actually an 8rnd magazine. No worries...If you like it keep it, if not someone will buy it off of you for a decent price. My P9 came with one standard 7rnd and one 8rnd w/extension too. I sold the 8rnd mag because I didn't like the look.

I wouldn't say you should be worried, but as "the second was a 7 round magazine with the grip extension" and does not fit into your pistol as it is, give Kahr a call and have them send you a standard base plate.

Greg

I did not try it in the gun, so it may be an 8 round with the extension.
If so, is that normal. Have they started shipping with the two different magazines?

Mine came that way. One 7rnd and one 8rnd magazine.

Ok, that makes me feel better.
I just thought somebody made a swap or something.
I don't necessarily like the look of the magazine coming out a bit, so I may look to swap it.

My P9 came with the same mags. 1-7rd & 1-8rd

I thought that was a little odd myself, however I actually like the 8rd for a spare mag, In a defensive situation if i get to the point Im changing mags, Im sure I will be happy to have an extra round.
