I Just picked up a new P380 with LCI and Mag disc, any suggestions? I Own a PM9 and have had good luck. This one I"ll have to see. I already had to take a file to the slide, it was contacting and scratching the top of the barrel, I noticed it as I was taking it down to clean and lube before break-in. Anyone else find this?

the slide should contact the barrel somewhat. breakit in with fmj ammo at first, get it running right. I wouldnot touch the LCI or disconnet either. Thebarrel has to came downward upon the slide cycling, so there has to be some metalto metal contact. Kahr puts a dull finish on their barrels and maybe this is whatur seeig. I polichwd allmy kahr barrels to a mirror finish as they are nickel coated so they will shine up really nice. It is stillgonna show barrel to slide wear but thatisnormal for a lock breech gun... Keep us posted. This is thebest 380 on the market WHENIT DOES AS DESIGNED..dont panic until u get a few hundred rounds through the gun. It willsmooth itself out..

I agree with the contact but there was a huge burr and the metal on the slide was folded back, you could not only catch it with a fingernail but ya might just cut your finger doing it! After filing the burr I did polish up the barrel, not to a mirror finish but got rid of the fairly deep scratch and have racked it several hundred times to loosen up the springs etc and hopefully I'll run a few hundred rounds though it this Sat. I was lucky to find 380, they had a 5 box limit at cabella's, I might just go by Friday and pick up another 250 rds if they have it

Don't try to put "a few hundred rounds" through it in one outing. Too punishing on you and the gun. These micro compacts like to be cleaned every 50 rounds or so, and run it kinda wet with oil during the breakin. Now, if you want to do a quick cleaning and lubing every 50, giving both of you a break, and then shoot 50 more, you'll do alright. Good luck! :)

When I broke my PM9 in I did 100 rounds a visit and it worked out well. I'm glad I went with the Kahr, I was considering a Ruger with a crimson trace but the little Kahr with the night sites was just to tempting to pass up. I installed a crimson trace on my pm9 but really being a close range gun, I should have saved my money but it was either that or night sites and just didn't want to send it back to Kahr at the time.

Unfortunately my experience agrees with you, these pistols don't like to go more than 50 rounds before they gum up and start malfunctioning. I also don't understand why new pistols are coming to us with nasty machining burrs that aren't being sanded off, especially on a $600 pistol. I'd expect a Kahr to be GTG out of the box and not need a fluff n' buff as if it were a $280 Kel-Tec.

I run 125 rounds through my p380 every range visit with no issues. 100 fmj and 25 sd rounds. But I do start out squeaky clean and very well lubed. I use grease on the rails, oil everywhere else. I can probably get away with more but shooting that much with that little gun gets trying.
