Well, I got some rust on the slide of my fairly new Ruger LC9 from skin contact in the OWB holster. I'm getting a Silent Thunder OWB holster with sweat shield but considering a coating now too. Reading and investigating it seems Cerakote should be better than Duracote but an application person in Albuquerque said they are really about the same. Any comments or first hand knowledge? I noticed that it's something that perhaps I could do myself but I'm about as mechanical as a rope so not sure I feel like trying. Anybody here do it themselves and how tough is it? Anyone know an outfit who's really good at the application???
