I'm addicted to the series I Survived on the Bio chanel. Every episode has 3 stories of people who are in life threatening situations and how they survived to tell their story. One of my favorites was a couple who were in their own home and attacked by 3 armed gunmen. They fought them off and survived. She killed one with a .22 handgun. What's your favorite?

Not sure but I can't wait. This is one of the best programs on tv. I learn something from it everytime I watch it. And it's facinating how people think when they are being attacked....their thought process.

I haven't seen this one but I'll try to watch it if I can find it. Sounds like good endorsements and lord knows there ain't much good stuff on tv now days. It's like real world reenactments of stuff that really happened?
Not like Man vs Wild or whatever that thing is?

What's wrong with Man vs Wild...but no from the very little I've seen it's not. It's kinda like tales from folks who survived plague/fire/famine/thugs/terrorists/etc.

What's your favorite episode or story?

I liked the one where the off duty sheriff put himself in a hostage situation and eventually took the BG out.

I have to honestly say that I don't "like" most of the ones I see so much as I feel they can be a real learning tool. The truth is some of the things that happen to people on this show are just appalling. It's amazing the horrible things people can do.

On the flip side it's equally amazing how much the human body can endure and the trauma it can survive.

It's on the Bio channel in my area. There are usually 3 stories per episode. One might be where someone has been attacked by BG's, another is usually some kind of accident or natural disaster, and the third could be a animal attack. They interview the people involved and get their story and how they were able to escape death. Like I said, I usually learn something from each story that could help me if ever in a similar situation. Watch it once and you'll be hooked.

You're right, I don't like what happened but I admire the way these folks beat death. And it just makes me that much more determined not to be a victim. I am definitely more aware now than ever before. I'll tell you this, after seeing the attacks that occur from bears and mountain lions, I will not go into the woods without a weapon.

Great! Let me know if you see it and what you think. It's easy to get hooked on this program. Also, the reruns are showing now but it'll give you time to see all the old stories before they start the new season.:9:

Even the reruns are great if you've never seen them.

I was thinking about an episode that stood out to me and came up with a few. One I found amusing was when some thugs kidnapped a District Attorney and stole money from his ATM. They didn't hurt the guy but held him captive and blindfolded while they spent his money on pot and hookers. They eventually let him go. To make things worse, they had kidnapped him on his birthday.

I saw that one. They let him go and he had learned enough info while held captive to notify the police and have them arrested. Smart guy. I just saw an episode where 2 guys went into a store, one guy had a hammer and the other an knife. The ass't mgr was struck in the head with a hammer and the woman sales clerk who was stabbed 27 times and had her throat cut, survived and was able to ID the bg's and save her and the ass't mgr. UNBELIEVABLE....
