I've had my PM9 for a few years, I don't even think the CM's were out when I got it. I probably carry it 75% of the time, with my Glock 19 taking up the rest.

It seems like forever that I've wanted to put some Big Dots on, but just never seemed to find them in stock when I had the cash. I even went to my local smith to see if they could get them with no luck.

Finally last week, they found a set. So, off to the range I went.

For a first outing, I'm pretty pleased. Approximately, 50 rounds at 7 yards, from the draw, with double taps, and several speed reloads. I think this averages about 3-3.5in, ignoring the two flyers. To me, that's all center mass (if the group looks off-center it's because where the first round went is where I aimed the rest).

Couldn't be happier. Now my PM is perfect.

Good job. I think a very obvious large front sight is a great aid in a SD pistol. I went with an orange AmeriGlo on my Shield and prefer them over the three dots that came with the pistol.

Very nice shooting ... even if you do say so yourself!

I actually tried Big Dots on the Glocks I use for IDPA. Even tried a Big Dot front with a 10-8 rear. That's actually a great combination for a SD handgun, but not for competition. I am, however, liking the Big Dots on the PM9.

To be fair, I recalculated the group based on the plate size, and it seems closer to 4in.
Still keeps me happy.

I made it from .80 kydex. Got tired of having my rounds fall out in my pocket. When I get the time, I'll finish a belt mag holder that's been sitting on my work bench for two weeks.

BTW, there are some great tutorials on YouTube if you want to give it a try.

Hey --- I see you have one of the "Pearce Half Pinky Magazine Extensions" I thought mine was one-of-a-kind.

Someday, I'll install a X/S Big Dot on my Kahr PM9. I agree that they're the best you can buy, but, like others, I DO wonder why, IF they're so good, we don't see (more of) their use in Police agencies and the military.

I saw it here, very likely from one of your posts. It adds a nice purchase for the pinky without compromising concealability. So, if it's from you, thanks for the idea. I've also used P9 mag bases on my PM9 mags. I like that pretty well, but like your Pearce mod better.

IMO, they're great for a SD weapon system, but not best for precision shots. Considering the odds are any encounter non-LEOs would have would be within 3-5 yards, actually probably closer. I'm not LEO, but would imagine they need to consider increased distances.

For my purposes, they are accurate enough, and very fast. However, I will say that at those close distances I'm really not using the sights much lately. I've been working on point shooting. To me, that is the ultimate in speed. And as long as I'm keeping it within that 6 in. area at 3 yards, I'm happy.

Nah. Can't claim to be the original. Someone was probably even quicker than us. That Pearce extension is a good product. You can grind off as much or as little as you like - or none. I like the way the guns look with a smaller extension. I left just enough so my pinky doesn't dangle...

Nice shooting. No way can I keep double taps that tight.

My guess is that at 3-5 yards in a SD situation most of us will be point shooting or maybe slide indexing, in our peripheral vision, and not using the sights at all. That being said I've long had an interest in the XS Big Dots but have yet to given them a try.

Because most police agencies will only purchase the cheapest bid. Most police officers just shoot what is given to them. I would also estimate that 1/2 of all LEO's are not even so called gun enthusiasts, so they would not really care what they are given just as long as it works. Heck sometimes if it is not requried, most LEO when they are off the clock, stop carrying period. Most of the time, the military will purchase the lowest bid not the best. All this is just my opinion and oberservation. God Bless :)

I have Big Dots on my Shield. With practice I am grouping my 7 yard shots 1 1/2 inch.

I like them especially for front sight aiming.
