Just got my K40 back from Magna Port. So far I'm real happy with the looks. I'll try to get out this weekend and shoot it to see what kind of difference it makes.
FYI- thats For Your Information Jocko, they offer a 15% discount for Law Enforcement, I sent it last Monday and would have got it Friday except my card expired. They promptly called and my wife broke out the new card with new expiration date. I think she was holding out on me. Silly part is it's a debit card, has to have money in there to work. Why would that expire, well in my case I guess it's understandable. An account with mostly nothing but cobwebs and wishful thinking.
Anyhow range report forth coming soon as I can.

Good photos, Bawanna'. Thanks. I hope you can capture some video and pull out some nice stills of the flashes from the side and from the rear over your shoulder... helper required.:)
I can't wait to hear what you think of the recoil and recovery improvement. I can see where firing that while holding it close to your body in CQ could knock your cap off... or more!
I guess you have to send the whole gun with an auto?

Actually I just sent the slide and barrel. Several here have looked at it and commented that it looks factory which it does. Very clean, I like the look alot. Very fast turn around. Someone did mention that shooting it in close can blow gases etc into your face or knock your hat off but I'm usually at at least partial arms extension when I shoot. I'll definitely have the glasses on, always wear those, last semi good thing I got that works. Legs, ears, general body functions are semi toast. Eyes getting weaker too. I'd say lift my hair and transplant a new body but I ain't got much hair to lift either, whoah is me.

if one is looking for excuses to not port a gun, it is not hard to do that. I have shot ported guns for over 30 years, I have zero complaints. I would guess if u stick the gun under your nose, you might be looking for a new nose (maybe), but not sure just sticking a short barreled gun would not produce the same thing. Just something I never worried about either. With a short barreled gun, be it a revolver which I think even Smith is putting out a short barreled-ported gun even, there is merits. My model 60 is magna ported.. I have hip shot and tried to fire from the waist to, for effect and got nothing, but also I could not hit a damn thing that way. I would be hard pressed to ever try to shoot that way for effectiveness. One tends to shoot the way he trains and I certainly don't train that way, maybe I should be at my age I am not paranoid either.
I have said before that porting might not be for everybody either. It certanly is for me and I know of many 40 cal kahr owners who have ported and reported back how much nicer it is to shoot and how fast the second shot is there to. I just don't read reports from people who have magna ported their guns ever coming back and stating it was a waste. Not sure it will increase the value of ur gun though, but if it pleases u, then that is all that matters..
My K9 Bawanna is also ported. damn gun just sits there waiting on the second shot, very nice and certainly not needed on this all steel version gun either. You cannot beat Magna ports work for no refinish is required and as Bawanna photos show, they just don't drill round holes and call it porting. I think their system has alittle more thought process into it. It certainly is the porting that all other porting jobs are compared to.
I reall think Bawanna ur gonna see a nice CW40 in terms of felt recoil and more pleasant over all to shoot...Knowing we will get a nice full unbiased report to, is what matters. But please don't stick it under your nose, for ur ugly enough as u are!!!!!!!

Received my Mag-Na-Ported barrel and slide for my P9 this past Friday. I detail stripped my existing slide and reassembled the inner components into the Mag-Na-Ported slide. Also, did a trigger/action job by doing the mirrored finish with the dremel and Hard Metal Polish #2 to all the friction points of the moving action. YouTube - Kahr Action Job (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1cDRE0mYdY)
I hit the range today and OMG! I honestly have to say...I noticed significant recoil reduction with a trigger pull that felt much smoother than the already sweet Kahr stock trigger. I absolutely loved my Kahr before, but now, I LOOOVVVEE my Kahr.
The only issue that I experienced was with the new slide. Oddly the channel that is suppose to house the extractor pin didn't have a big enough diameter hole. I could not get the extractor pin to go in. I mean, it was not even close to fitting. Bad problem considering I had already paid Mag-Na-Port to do their thing to the new slide and barrel. I ended up using a drill bit, just slightly larger than the channel and made the channel a tiny bit larger. Ran 200 rounds through it today and luckily it was flawless.
Now I just have to figure out what to do with my old slide and barrel.

Well weepin Mary in the stable, here they are. Didn't take long neither, dodging the damn frying pan as we speak, bobbing an weaving and posting brag photo's all at once. I still got it. Bruce Lee got nothing on me, poked my finger in a light socket, didn't light me up. Float like a butterfly BS like a bee.

Absolutely not. A new fella with a 40 wanted to see my K40 magna port pics. I couldn't figure out how to transfer them to the other thread so I brought this thread to the top so he could find it. Beside Jocko thunk it up so mind your P's and Q's and show a little respect for the oracle. hmmmm?
Didn't mean to talk so tough, all that Bruce Lee talk got me all adrenalined out and hyped up on myself, actually I'm curled up in a little ball on the floor in the closet sucking my thumb, typing with just one hand. It's windy outside and the monsters are every where. BUT I gotta go out there, pressure washing the patio's and sidewalk. The things women make derelicts in wheelchairs do. I should be in a home being attended to by some hot nurse with big moracca's. I'm next to helpless. Well that daydream bubble just blew up, back to the pressure washer.

why did u not let magna port do the original sldie and barrel? U were lucky being able to fix that extractor pin hole. That is why I always recommend before one sends a slide and barrel of to magna port or even any refinisher, that he make sure it is perfect for kahr will only replace the part and not the after market stuff. Glad the P9 did what I knew it would do. awesome gun and the porting looks great when done by magna port to, .

Yeah, I hear you. I learned a lesson from now on the make sure the new parts work, before having other after market work done. To answer your question of why I did not send my original slide and barrel to Mag-Na-Port, truth be told, I love my Karh so much, I didn't want to go without it for even one day. That would have meant going back to carrying my XD9 sub compact until getting my car back and while I do like my XD, I cannot conceal it very well.

Here she be... what??
No attachments or Pix!:(
Oh... a quick tip -- when you return the PM45 for the first time, get some extra airbills from the FedEx guy/gal to fill out and have handy for subsequent visits to the mothership.:D
Dang... it's kind of a guilty pleasure poking a guy while he's down... kicking's a little harsh.:D

Wynn, you should be ashamed of yourself. You know as well as I do that he's gonna have to put that little gun together, and that like your lawn torture device there will be pieces missing. :D:boink::001_tt2:

You guys are brutal! I had a dream (more like a nightmare) last night that I took it out of the box in preparation to do the checklist and the recoil spring and trigger were missing all together!
I might get a whole pad of air bills. Still no joy from Bud's either, I neglected to ask where or what country the warehouse was in. Still not them it's me and my impatience. If that darn triggers missing though I'm not gonna be happy.

Oh, BaWHINEY' will get over it. He'll being droolin' on it and cuddling it when he goes to bed. When he goes to the range he can sit in his chair with the brakes off (and in neutral?) and shoot it. He'll get a big kick out of that.:D
Of course, that's after Kahr finishes making it shootable!

kahr had some PM45's that got out of the building with no triggers in them. Sure hope Bawanna doesn't get one of those:boink: Course like his ported K40, he probalby won't shoot the PM45 anyway, so what does he need a trigger for.:israel:

Ouch, eh I'm thinking that the barrel might come bent and that the sights will be mismatched. I think Magna Port might have removed something off the K40 and that's why he hasn't shot it. The striker might be gone out of the new one and perhaps the K40 as well. Of course Bud's probably just needs to remember which mud hole they buried it in, or need to let the rust process finish. And what's wrong with cuddling with them in bed? I still sleep with a weapon, and it makes a better bed partner too.:p

You fellas are making me kind of consider getting out of guns and maybe take up knitting or pottery or something. Course I'd probably fall out of the chair and land on a knitting needle and hurt myself, maybe even end up a derelict.
I'm acquiring a whole new insight into what a victim of a gang attack feels like and I'm starting to get a borderline phobia. Got a strong urge to curl up on the floor and suck my thumb. I guess at least that way it wouldn't be hitting the mag release lever.
I better call up Fed EX and order them air bills, maybe order some parts so I'll have em on hand if needed for missing ones. Probably get here before the gun the way things are looking.

You'll be fine. I'd call Bud's again though. As for the thumb sucking...I have a bottle or four of some Habanero sauce, just a dab'll do ya. Cures what ails ya and garonteed to cure that there thumb problem.

Well drop my skivvies and call me baby. My order status just got upgraded to shipping!:D It's early in the day so it's possible:confused:, maybe doubtful :(that it could go out today. They told me that it goes 2nd day air so could forseeably get here friday maybe.:o
I'll probably just mount it in a shadow box and hang it on the wall, save it for a collector item, so no rush.

If you waste a perfectly good and sweet weapon like that, so help me... The song Dirt Deeds will be your new way of life. All jokes aside you'll be playing and fondling soon enough. Just make sure you SHOOT THE DAMN THING, and let us know how much you're glad we kicked you over the buy button.

Yeah, my job is done. I raved about mine and talked about it so much that several others bought one and then "Baw-Whiney" got to feelin' left out. Well, he'll have one soon enough and get to inspect it for the usual incompletions on these "Beta" versions... the do-it-yourself "kit" gun. Hopefully he can at least chamber a round and fire it... at least once. He won't have to worry about the sights not working... unless they put them on crooked or backwards.:19:
The wolfpack Omega does come to mind, but that's just temporary. We are all excited for you and hope this new toy will be perfect... after the obligatory return to the mothership.:D
Affectionately yours,

 Just did a track and it indicates a 3 part shipment? You reckon it is a kit gun? Some assembly required?:2rolleyes:
12 can play this pull your chain game. You guys are gonna be waterboarding yourself in your own tears when this thing runs perfect right out of the box. Course I figure I can at least use the box for something even if the gun don't work, probably mostly for a shipping carton.
The sawbones wants to do a bunch of scientific rocket science test on me tomorrow, hoping they turn me loose same day so I can pick the new POS up on friday if by some miracle if arrives. My FFL will probably have a note on his door that hes on vacation for 3 weeks, see ya when I get back.:84::smash::crazy:
Maybe they got a laptop and wi fi so I can play here while they perform unnatural stuff on my body. No coffee rest of today or in the morning, what kind of unnatural torture is that.

We sort of got side tracked here talking about the new PM45 but here are some pics of the K40 after magna port. First time we did this movie angle and we ended up with about 500 some pictures that didn't do much but we got some.
I guess it didn't tame the recoil as much as I had hoped. My son on the other hand said he noticed a big improvement. Magna port states that people who shoot alot notice the difference less than those who don't. My son shoots as much as me so not sure what the deal is there. It DOES help without question and I would probably do it again in the same situation.
I intend to shoot it first next range trip, today I had already put about 250 rounds thru Tiny so my recoil taste buds may have been tainted. I see no need to magna port the PM45 at this point but would be interesting to see what difference there might be. If nothing else it looks waaaay cool which to me is reason enough. Like Jocko said I could just port the slide and leave the barrel intact. Look cool but not mess with mother nature or Justin Moon.
