I'm new to Kahr's but can the P9 barrel shoot hard cast lead reloads without any problems.

There are some that do, proper size and lube are essential. I personally don't recommend it, but then again I prefer jacketed bullets anyway. Just my thoughts. Oh and cleaning is paramount as well.

Many don't like to mix lead with polygonal rifling. Its really not a hardness issue but a pressure issue. Some do it without problems. I'm with jlott, I use lead in some of my single action revolver cheaper and convenient but sometimes harder to clean. I always shoot a few jackets at the end of a range session to help that process. All my autos see jackets all the time.
The indoor range I frequent is now not allowing exposed lead bullets except 22's. So guess even my 45 Colts will have to start seeing more jackets even in summer.
