I was wondering if the holster that comes with some Sigs was a pretty good holster or not?

This one: http://www.sigsauer.com/SigStore/sig-sauer-standard-polymer-holsters-441.aspx

Also are Kydex and polymer holsters different or are they the same thing?

Thanks in advance!

I don't have any personal experience with the Sig holster, but it looks like it would be fine for range use and around the house, probably not for concealed carry. I assume you have a Sig?

Kydex is a type of polymer that is softened by heat and molded around the gun. But the Sig holster is injection molded using a different kind of plastic.

Why wouldn't it be good for concealed carry? And ya I got a Sig P938. I was also looking at like a sticky holster, a shark tac, or a blade tech.

In general, those kind of holsters don't ride close in to the body. I could be wrong. Get it. It's pretty cheap. And like I say, it will be useful.

There are a few OWB holsters that can hold a gun real close for good concealment. But with a little gun like the P938, I would go IWB. The very best IWB holster for behind the hip carry is the PJ IWB Holster (http://pjholster.com/?page_id=37). There are so, so many members here that will concur. Paul is a great guy and a real gun lover, and he performs magic with kydex - making the holster incredibly comfortable to where you can't tell it is there whether sitting, standing or moving about. It is like the mass of the gun disappears, becoming one with your body. I carry mine with a 15° cant just behind my hip - the sweet spot. I prefer the one linked above with the over the belt clip. I normally wear the above under a loose shirt.

I was also looking at like a sticky holster, a shark tac, or a blade tech.

Personally, I found the Remora/Sticky holster to be too bulky and too sticky. What I have found really works great for pocket or AIWB carry is the Stays-Put Ultra Pocket Holster (http://www.concealmentspecialties.com/products.html) Just $14.95 shipped. It will disguise the gun in your pocket, cover the trigger and make it very comfortable there or on your waist. And, BTW, it STAYS PUT when you draw the gun! I have 3 of them for my small guns.

Ya those PJ holsters are really nice, ill have to look into getting one. Have you used a sticky holster before IWB instead of pocket carry? Ive heard that they stay really good and also have heard that they will shake loose and fall down your pants. And how does carrying IWB work for carrying the Stays-Put? When I carry it I would carry more towards the back.

I think I just proclaimed how the Stays-Put is so comfortable and stays put. I carry mine behind my daily carry belt which is a medium weight gun belt. I am not an acrobat, but it won't shake loose with any movements I am likely to do. It might fall if I were not wearing a belt, but then so would my pants! :D I carry mine at 10:30 (lefty). My lower belly is pretty soft and the gun and holster sort of make a depression in it that helps lock it in place. I haven't tried it behind my hip. I imagine it wouldn't be as secure there because my body is shaped differently and it wouldn't be able to make a pocket for itself. The PJ IWB clip holster works perfectly there.
