Bought my first kahr PM-45. At first I couldn't make out if I liked it or not. I was used to a Springfield gov model M-1911. Took the PM-45 home and attempted to rack a round. Oh boy what a surprise ! I was not prepared for the tension of the slide spring also managed to jam a few rounds. Yup the instructions said to lock the slide to the rear and release it and it would work correctly. Yup it did fine. Practiced a few times without the assistance of the slide release. Finally got the hang of it. Can't ***** foot around with the loading part. Learned that real fast. Still was really sure if I liked the weapon or not. So took it to the range and ran 50 rounds of 45 ball ammo. I was sold on the weapon. It performed flawlessly. No malfunctions. Accurate ? Wowed me. For a small out of the box stock weapon it is amazing. I am very impressed. Yup fell out of a few perfectly good aircraft while in flight from about 67 to 87 Airborne Infantry. Back to the PM-45, had to get used to not having a manual safety and that the built in safety on the weapon was called the trigger finger. Just different from old school weapons. Basic disassembly went fine and reassembly was a snap. Another plus is that it is built in USA ! When I went to buy the Kahr I was shown a 9mm, but told him what does he have in 45 acp, I like to keep my hand guns in the same caliber. Damn outstanding fire arm !:Amflag2:

Welcome to the Kahr club where all models are allowed ... 45, 9, 40 & 380. You quickly discovered one of a Kahr owner's distinctive phrases ... "I went to the range and it performed flawlessly" ... except of course sometimes they don't ... but those are almost always fixable.

BTW, I graduated from 71st High School almost 50 years ago, and my Mom & Dad are buried at a cemetary out on 401 North.

Thank you for the welcome ! Wow 71st HS. Both my daughters went there. Fayetteville and Bragg has gone through a lot changes I get lost. Back to the PM-45 to tell the truth I was about to swap it out until I got the feel for it as far as loading, slide release, and racking. Once when that came together of about two days worth of practice loading and unloading it was pretty good. Felt real good in my hand when I first got it. At the range I was blown away with the performance of the PM-45. Unreal is an understatement. Pleasure to shoot. Kick back was not bad at all. I have shot and owned a ruger 44 mag (wheel gun) and that I must say kicked like a mule.

Gotta luv a Jar Head ! Just kidding. Got to admit I damn sure like that PM-45. Now the next brain cramp is the holster. Big gun, big holster, no problem. Little gun, big bang, little holster, now the real fun begins. What could you expect from a Dog Face ? :86:

The very best IWB holster for behind the hip carry is the PJ IWB Holster (http://pjholster.com/?page_id=37). There are so, so many members here that will concur. Paul is a great guy and a real gun lover, and he performs magic with kydex - making the holster incredibly comfortable to where you can't tell it is there whether sitting, standing or moving about. It is like the mass of the gun disappears, becoming one with your body. I carry mine with a 15° cant just behind my hip - the sweet spot. I prefer the one linked above with the over the belt clip. I normally wear the above under a loose shirt.

BTW, welcome from WNC! :D

Airborne Fodder ! Interesting handle. I felt like cannon fodder after I fell out of the aircraft and hit the dirt. I did check out a lot of holsters. Now I have to sit back and evaluate the holster situation. Wore out blue jeens, t-shirt, and flip flops. My also have to change the up on the t-shirt. Little to short to be practical.

ClutchDisk, I bought some Long Tail Ts (http://www.duluthtrading.com/store/mens/mens-shirts/mens-t-shirts/mens-t-shirts.aspx) from Duluth Trading. A bit expensive, but get on their email list and wait for a sale on them.
