Big article in my local paper, says Kahr is moving to Pike county Pa. about 20 min. from my house. They are supposed to by buying a 650 ac industrial park, and hope to start building a corporate office by the end of the year. sounded pretty serious, says some top people have already bought houses here. gives the reason of unfriendly politics in ny state. Hope this goes thru, and they have some kind of a place to buy from them here.

A big thumbs up if true. And about time. Mass went unworthy on 1 July 1975....well before California, even.

Bravo Kahr! I seen this earlier today on PAFOA forum and was happy to read one of my favorite gun manufacturers is coming to my state, and more importantly is giving a big F.U to New York! I really wish the other big gun manufacturers would also follow Kahrs lead and get out of these anti-gun states.

Kahr is doing a free gun contest about this move, but you have to be on facebook, which I will never do... It would be nice if they would at least include us Kahrtalk members in it without the FB requirement.

Yeah, when I saw I had to enter via farcebook I decided I didn't want another Kahr that badly. But I'm all warm and fuzzy over their moving. Bravo!

Well, the Facebook thing is still going on, so I am in doubt about this information. Why would they be running a Gun giveaway and stuff if they had already decided where they are going to move to?

perhaps a stunt to get more "likes" on facebook since you have to 'like' their page to enter.

Also, sounds like they are only leaving NY...still gonna be in the people's republic of taxachusetts.:Amflag2:

Real men don't face book and they definitely don't twitter. PA was the second best State that they could have chosen. Ohio being the firstest best place. At least they moved closer to old Muggsy.

I would like to see all of the gun manufacturers leave their communist states. Kahr, Colt, etc. States like MA, NY, CT have no business gaining tax revenue from these companies. Too bad for the folks that work there but it gives them a reason to leave these states too.

Muggsy, I mean absolutely no offense, but you are flat wrong. I learned a long time ago that the determination of whether I am a real man can only be made by three people ... My Heavenly Father, my wife and myself ... using or not using Facebook has nothing to do with the definition.

Those people at Kahr are some pretty smart people. Pa. was a good choice.
Not that there weren't other good choices.

In the Kahr give-away contest going on right now I had suggested South Carolina as a place for Kahr to consider. And as it turns out, there is actually a Connecticut arms maker who has decided to do just that. I had suggested a different part of the state, but Myrtle Beach is not a bad place to move either. Below is a link to another thread here on KahrTalk with the details.

I'm not doubting what u read, but most all Industral Parks do not sell 600+ acres unless there is a shown need for that buyer to use all of that acerage. That is what Industrial parks are for, multiple business or mfgering companines. I would be very surpised if Kahr needed 10 acres, which might be a stretch

sorry: I just read the article. It sure looks like they are interested in the 600+ acres site. doesn't look like the "PARK" IN ANYMORE THANa wooded site set aside for industrial use. the price for the acreage is IMO a steal. If it was indeed a true industrial site with all the connection and utility and water etc already there, one proabably couldn't buy 10 acres for 2 million. I sure ehope kahr pulls the plug and with that kind of spare acerage, they might even drag in some other gun makes and parts makers to this site. Kudos to kahr.:amflag:

Wouldn't be the first or last time a newspaper screwed up a story, so who knows what the truth is. Glad Kahr is moving.

Ray, from you and you only, I'll take that as gospel. No offense taken. :)

P.S. Statements like the one on facebook twitter are only a part of the Muggsy persona. I'm actually a little whimp.

for anyone interested in this, things seem to be moving quite well. today they made the local tv news, and the Pocono record again. all was good, even interviewed several, mostly women on the tube, all think it is a good idea. Kahr has planning commission meeting on aug. 14, township supervisors aug 19, and public hearing aug 26. from what I have read and heard, everyone is in favor of them coming. Hope so.

Got this today via e-mail from Kahr:

Kahr® Firearms Group Plans Major Expansion in Pennsylvania

Pearl River, NY – Kahr Firearms Group is engaged in discussions with a development group representing Blooming Grove Township of Pike County Pennsylvania, to open a new manufacturing site and relocate the Kahr corporate office from New York to Pennsylvania. Kahr’s corporate offices are currently located in Rockland County in Pearl River, New York.
Kahr's plans include the purchase of 620 acres of commercial real estate from the Pike County Industrial Park Development Group/Business Development Corporation. The first step in the multi-phased plan will begin with site preparation and office construction as early as late this year. This will be followed by the relocation of company corporate offices and the research and development department. In the second phase, manufacturing operations will be expanded to the Pike County location to meet the increasing demand for its Kahr Arms, Thompson, Auto-Ordnance, and Magnum Research product lines.
The Kahr Group of manufacturing plants, operating at full capacity, will continue production in their current locations in Worcester, MA and Pillager, MN.
“We are grateful for the warm welcome and the business opportunity extended by the Pike County Industrial Park Development Group/Business Development Corporation to expand our company and relocate its headquarters office,” stated VP of Sales and Marketing, Frank Harris. “The Pennsylvania group has demonstrated tremendous support of our operations and Kahr looks to move forward with the project without delay. It's good for our business and also for other businesses in the area as we build a long-term mutually beneficial relationship with the community. We anticipate generating significant numbers of revenue and jobs for the local Northeastern Pennsylvania economy with the construction of facilities, expansion of manufacturing, and need for local vendors.”

and my thoghts that within a few years othem getting set up in Pa and getting some production goin, they will indeed move out of where they are now. They won't keep two production plants open in different states. Just my 21 cents

Kudos to kahr

I read today where that BLIND internainer steveie wonder is boycotting Forida and until it changes its stand ur ground law and intends to boycott any other state that has that law. Now does anyone really think or give a rats asswhat the fokk Stevie wonder says.

Fokk, turn him around a dozen times and load him on a bus and he couldn't tell you what state he was in in the first place. Wow,I bet that will just send all the state legislators back to the table. Why do we even give this a$$holes any coverage???Just sayin I bet his talent is in big demand, like a case of clapp.
