Very nice! That Mosin stock turned out really nice.

I've been on the prowl for a 4" 686 for a long time, that looks like a beauty.

Mosin stock was hand sanded for 1hr, stained with 2 coats MinWax Red Sedona oil stain, sealed in 14 coats of Birchwood Casey's Try-Oil lightly wet sanding in between coats with 2000 grit wet/dry paper, last coat lightly hit with super fine steel wool after 1 day drying. I also polished the whole bolt assemble which cycles like butter now. I finished off the project by knocking off most of the fading bluing with different grades of steel wool ending in super fine, degreased metal with BirchWood Casey's degreaser then 2 coats of BirchWood Casey's Super Black bluing(warmed metal 1st with propane torch)

Yes, that is a beauty. I've also been looking for one for a while and my LGS has one, but they are asking $900. Which seems high to me. The trigger is REAL nice!

That is a lot! Probably why I don't have one.

I only carry that 686 when I go up the mountains with the wife and kids fishing. You never know when some 4 legged bandit is extra hungry!
I keep her loaded with 180 gr hard cast @ 1400 fps from Buffalo Bore.

Hi Kahr9mmguy, Do you like your M&P's as much as I like mine. I have a Pro model in 9mm. I think it's the best double action trigger I ever shot. Take up the slack, then a crisp single action type break. Not quite a tack driver yet, I think I need to run some more rounds down the barrel, but the ammo shelves are bare or overpriced.

LorenzoB, I found a 686 plus (7 shot) Talo edition on Slickguns.com for under 700. Had the 6 inch barrel though. I don't know what Talo does, I think they just put some nice grips on mine. Now I need to get into it and remove the lock.

Awesome looking S&W 686 you got there! I had one back in the late 80's, loved that gun. Wish now I would of never sold it. The trigger and action was smooth as silk right out of the box. :D

I like that a lot. Better look at the mag release, maybe it's sitting on something holding the gun up but it's sticking out a tad for some reason.

I'd love to have one of those and a nice 4" 686 too.

I love to show pics of the guns I own now, but they were all lost in a horrific blimp disaster over the Atlantic.....:(

Sent my arsenal into outer-space so they can't infect anyone.
I feel so much safer now...

Due to an completely unexpected and totally random steel mill accident, I lost all of mine tragically.

I was soooo disappointed when they decided not to raise the Titanic. I was so hoping to get a few of mine back, but alas it's not meant to be.
