The Good:

First 250 rounds through a new PM40 today and flawless. I did follow the prep seggested on the forum.. Thanks much Jocko and crew!! Yep there is some recoil, just gotta stay ahead of it for follow up shots..

Pretty stoked on this little .40.. very accurate for the size..
went like this
100 rounds 180 grain Remington UMC FMJ
50 rounds 180 grain American Eagle
50 rounds 180 grain Remington Golden Saber
50 rounds 180 grain American Eagle FMJ

The Bad:

Unfortunately I did not realize the follower in one of my PM40 mags broke on the first 250 round trip to the range last weekend. Rotating 7 mags. and today another mag follower broke somewhere within 50 rounds on 3 mags... (I picked up 5 flush 5-round Kahr mags so have backups..)

.. Also the slide stop spring was a little bent after the first session.. locking the slide on every pull back.. figured that one out checking out by the spring thread here but not sure it is not damaged.. The slide stuck back once on a not empty mag today within 100 rounds of 2nd range trip..
Sending this one back to the factory, because although I own a Dremmel, use it periodically, I am not qualified to start grinding a brand new Pistol. According to the posts on this forum..seems like it'll get fixed up 2 - 3 weeks..

The Best:

Received the PM40 back from the Factory exactly (to Cali) 1 week after dropping it at Fed Ex.

They replaced the slide stop spring, reworked the barrel (I assume that means feed ramp) re-lubed and she seems good to go.. Noticed immediately mag's drop much more freely (slight spring out) when mag button is depressed as they should ..

Fired 150 rounds of full power .40 S&W without a hitch. No mag follower contact.

So, had a set of night sights installed, fired another 100 rounds with zero malfunctions and she's good to go..

Nice little gun.. very accurate, nice smooth trigger.. Thank you Kahr for the fast turnaround..

I oftenwonder wy kahr is not just automatically doing this ramectomy job on all new kahrs. It solves the issue 100% and they are all basically machined the same exadct way, so if u get a gun thatit works in OK, more than likely it is to the credit of the lower section that is allowing the feed ramp to be OK.Certainly a maching adjustment when the barrel is bein made by kahr. Just my 21 centsw on that. which on senior citizens day at Mickey D's might just buy u acup ofcoffee. Just sayin

This /\....

Yep, I almost added an opinion on this exact point but though it could be inferred and better stated by the experienced members here.. and better stated it is.. thank you for the post sir.!

And still sincere thanks to Kahr for the hyper fast turnaround, and no hassle customer service..

Love a story with a happy ending! I had the exact same experience with my CM9 this past week. 8 days on the trip back and forth. They reworked my barrel also. Hoping to go to the range tomorrow. Hope my ending is happy too!

I'm one of the 10mm vs 40 anal retentive chest thumpers*, but if I ever got a 40, it would be the CM40.

Glad for the happy ending!~

Ah... 40s are ok I suppose.....

*Having built a 10mm 1911 before Colt released the Delta Elite.... I'm rather predjudiced.... and my 10mm was built with a9 barrel left over from the prototype run of Delta barrels made for Colt by BarSto!

I will bet that your PM40 will continue to be trouble free.

Mine had a similar issue. After a half dozen broken followers, I used a rubber abrasive polishing wheel to remove a tiny amount of metal from the part of the ramp that was impacting the follower skirt. There have been no more broken followers.

I must say, your turn around time was amazingly short. Congratulations!

WOW! 250 rounds with the PM40 first time out... that's quite a handful! Congrats on the safe return of your Kahr and I hope that it serves you well.

Haha.. Yep, 250 rounds first session.. hand was sore for 5 days, but the following weekend my full size .45.s felt like 9s.. good conditioning I suppose. :)

Good deal! Kahr had to "fix" the barrel (feed ramp) on my CM40 so it would stop breaking mag followers, but since then it's been great!
