"Fa-nu-gee" or Fantastic New Guy. :D

Just bought a used CM9 to replace my Ruger LC9... Love the Ruger. Then I bought a Glock 26 Gen 4.... Although the LC9 is not a target competition gun, I just shot better with the Glock 26. When I did not know better, when I only had the Ruger, I was happy. I shot well with Ruger. Then I got the Glock. I just shoot faster, more accurately with more confidence. Not to mention, if I want to haul around 11 rounds (10+1) or +2 more to that, with base plate finger extension I can. I also have 15 round Glock 19 magazine with X-grip sleeve.... . Glock a lot more gun, more fire power, Glock reliability.

Spring forward, I sold my Ruger LC9 on Armslist, locally. With cash in hand, another area gun range, about the only one that does not have inflated prices, had a CM9 on consignment. Price was right, $388 + tax + background. I was not going to buy another gun, since I had the Glock, but I went and shot the CM9; it had the trigger I wish the LC9 had. Plus it was smaller and lighter than the Glock.

I could have done the Galloway Trigger bar/hammer/trigger Mod to the Ruger for about $100. I'm sure that would have made it perfect, but two things stopped me: One, possible liability in a court of law; prosecution could say, "He put a hair trigger on it....."; Second, Galloway modifies your existing trigger bar and hammer. You can't get the stock parts to replace or modify. Ruger stopped selling these items. Not being able to return to stock setup was a bummer. Galloway said they were going to make their own trigger bar and hammer, but it has been a year. I gave up waiting.

If you have to send your modified LC9 to Ruger for repair, they will take those parts out and charge you. Ruger is fantastic, they don't have a date limited warranty, basically they warranty the gun for an indefinite period (read long time); as long as you don't abuse it or the gun is not ancient they will fix it. Ruger LC9 will eat any ammo, including +P to cheap re-loads, super reliable, 400-500 rounds before selling, not one hiccup.

Now, I got a CM9 (used). The Glock 26 is still great, but some times I want something a little smaller (thinner) and lighter than a G26. Then I read about all the CM9/PM9 failures to go bang, stovepipe, failure to feed. I am not worried, we shall see. I don't know how many rounds have been through my used CM9. I'm guessing (truly a guess) no more than 400, could be as low as 50 or 100. It seems to have not been use much. If it proves unreliable at the range it is going bye-bye. If the Glock and the Ruger 9mm's can run with out failures, the CM9 should as well. Since these are true personal defense weapons, they have to be 100%.

Thanks I started reading them. Lots of good tips. I will avail myself to all
those tips. I noticed some loose slivers of plastic coming off the edge of the
plastic rails. Those need de-burr treatment. Polish ramp, can do. Clean and
lube, can do (did).

My CM9 has been flawless since the break in period. If you really want a sweet trigger pull install the Wolff 5# striker spring. It makes a great gun even better. Stick with the 6 round mags and you'll soon be grinning like the rest of the CM9 owners.

This was my thinking too when I sold my LC9 for the K9. I have the XDm instead of the Glock for my larger pistol. Definitely the best of both worlds...:D

Once I learned how to chamber the first round, my PM9 runs better than my G34.

Welcome from the middle of Tennessee. I also have a CM9 and got rid of a Beretta Nano to get it. My CM9 is 24 rounds shy of 200 and working well.

Here is my range report. About 75 rounds through the Kahr CM9... 50
rounds 115Gn FMJ RN (commercial reloads) and 25 Winchester 115Gn
JHP. Number of failures = 0.0 = none, not that I was expecting any
failures. Solid.

All CM9 shots except (6) were at 7 Yrds or 10 Yrds. I used an UpLULA to
load one stock 6 round Mag. Slapped Mag in with slide locked back,
released slide, shot and repeated about 13 times. Nothing to report
except with Kahr CM9, I shot low and left. Then genius realized put sight
picture over target not sight under target like Ruger MKIII. I brought
target to 5 yrds and figured out what I was doing wrong. At 5 yards I
drilled target.

The upper target was mostly for 50 rounds with Ruger MKIII (.22LR) at 25
yrds, and a few 9mm. I tape over holes after about 20-30 rounds as needed.

I also shot 25 rounds through the Glock 26. The Glock is still better
overall in ease, but the Kahr CM9 is a joy joy joy. Also look at the size of
the Kahr. Kahr on my side all day; forgot I had it on. Size, power,
accuracy, ease of shooting and reliability for me CM9 rocks. :D

I have had my CM9 for just over two months and shot at least 200-250 rounds through it.... NOT ONE MISFIRE, JAM, FAILURE TO GO BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG until mag emptied and slide locked back.

I don't have much JHP ammo to spare for practice, so I am conserving ammo. However at least 25 rounds of JHP went through with no problem. The rest of the rounds I shot are round nose, copper jacket or plated reloads, including about 100 of my own reloads. I enjoy reloading 9mm, I have no worry about finding ammo and it is cheaper. I also think the quality as good or better then some factory ammo.

Nice reports. I too went the way of the Glock 26 to the CM9. It's just too dang hard to carry that G26 in the summertime. I love them both and now after around 500 rounds, I am shooting the CM9 as well as the G26. With the CM9 one long consistent trigger pull works for me. I stage the G26 trigger. Two different guns, two different techniques. Glad you're enjoying it! I enjoy Beale street every few years! Good times.
