View Full Version : A Major Thank You to this Forum

Although my posts have not been numerous, I have read the posts on this forum for almost a year. The collective wisdom assisted me in selecting my CM9, holsters and ammo. All told, a great experience.

I recently made a committed decision to keep to a 1911 format in both house/range guns and carry pistol. The fact that my wife has been unable to master either the CM9 trigger or racking the slide was the final push. My new carry gun will be an Ed Brown Kobra Carry - and yes, it is very different than the CM9.

I have put my CM9 up for sale and hopefully it will go to someone who will appreciate it.

In short while, I will not own a Kahr, however I would love to continue reading and occasionally posting in this forum. Thanks again for the laughs, information and know-how.

Kahr ownership is not required to partake of our little oasis. We'll see how long you can go without one an who can hold anything against a guy that carries a 1911.

I may be contacting you after awhile about new grips. :)

You always be welcome here. Sorry the Kahr didn't work out but 1911's be a much better than good 'nough first choice.

Well, yeah! You had better come back and keep us informed about how one of my favorite offerings from Mr. Brown works for you. Mind you, I am too poor to own one myself . . . so I will have to live vicariously through your happy experiences. :D

Oh, and Bawanna makes killer bobtail grips.

They used to call me "Mr. .45" at one time, back when the 1911's were just known as .45 auto's.

Still have .45's (1911's), have had HK 45's, Ruger .45's, and various 1911 designs all over the place. I carry Kahr. I love my 1911's, but carry Kahr.

Why? Weight and size and - reliability.

A man after my own heart. I have fourteen pistols; two 40's, MK40 and HK, one 9mm, PM9, one 380, LCP, and ten 45''s from Kahr, HK, SIG, and S&W, along with five 1911's. I too carry a Kahr most of the time, a CW45 on the belt or a PM9 in a pocket, for the same reasons.

Why not enjoy the best of both worlds and keep both. A man cannot have too many guns. If you are ever forced to shoot someone do you really want to have to surrender your Ed Brown to the police? And if you do what gun will you entrust your life to then. Think about it.

Sad how that works. A person has a tried and true favorite gun but is afraid to carry it for fear of it being took if you have to use it.
It effects me from time to time.

Like the Reno trip, at the last moment I left the Cbob at home, would be hard to replace. Took the PM45 cause I know I can get another one.

I think we need to whittle another set so you have a little variety there Tucson. I shall ponder that, not enough time to actually do anything right now but my time will come.

no kidding...and worse yet, if the pistol has major $$ or historic value it somehow disapears from the evidence room.

Hey! It is kind of you to think of me . . . but, in addition to be very nice to look at, this set makes the Dan Wesson easier to shoot accurately and stands up nicely to the shooting conditions we have this time of year.

Besides, variety is highly over rated . . . just ask Mrs. Bawanna. She will explain. http://home.mindspring.com/~justsomeguy/icon_lol.gif

Variety is the spice of life. My wife doesn't care where I get my appetite as long as I come home for dinner. :)

Yep, that's true for me. I carry the CW45 most of the time, not just because it's light, reliable, and accurate, but also since I know I can get another one inexpensively should the need arise.

Yep! Carry gun on the top, backup replacement on the bottom. There is a set of nights sights graciously and speedily shipped by Mr. bonjorno2 on the way to make them even more alike.

Admittedly, I never expect to need it, but the second pistol is also handy when I don't have time to clean right after a range session.

Life is good. :D

I appreciate all the great comments. And I do agree that more guns are better than less. :)
