I bought this used from Gun range, came with box (paper not plastic) and
all the goodies. Did they come in plastic boxes at one time?

Gun condition is very good, almost new. Nothing odd except I took the
magazine apart; it had thick oil in it, I'd call way over lubed. Remedied that.

Main two questions:
-Bulge or frame spreads out at front, normal?
-Barrel is not concentric in slide, normal?

Obvious with slide off, frame widens. Did not feel like taking slide off
again, so I took these two Pics.

I'm not one of the resident experts, but I've read enough of their responses to tell you what they would say. Don't worry about the bulge, or about the barrel. The bulge is pretty normal, and the barrel probably just needs some shooting to work out the tightness. Go fire a couple of hundred rounds through it and then decide what you think of it.

Jocko would add ... and fire it like you stole it!

Yes, all 100% normal. My PM9 has the same features and you will find on this forum various threads addressing/putting your mind at ease.

Yup all good and according to design. The barrel being short and tilting needs that room to be able to do so. The metal frame rails encapsulated in the tupperware require that extra room to cover them.

No worries.

The little notch in the left rail is normal too. (Preemptive post...)

Both are normal by design.
Have fun and congrats on your purchase!

Be sure to read the sticky threads in the new member area. They can be very helpful too.

The Kahr bulges are supposed to be there.

These however are not:

1. Normal
2. Normal

To my knowledge, the CM9 comes in a cardboard box. The PM9 ships in a hard plastic case.

is not pretty normal.IT IS ABSOLUTELY NORMAL AND BUILT IN BY DESIGN. The barrel slide gap is perfectly normal on all locked breech guns. There has to be that space there for the barrel to cam as the slide is retracting etc. No issues at all, other than now u just need to go out and shoot thefokker like u stole it..:Amflag2:

My thoughts on the buldge part is that kahr put that in there in case ur holding that front portion of the framewhen shootin and therefore it moves ur grips out of the way of the slide and possbly grabbing on the slide ancausing issues. Just my 21 cents on that. No proff or nuttin. Just one of those grab ur balls moments.

Here is my range report. About 75 rounds through the Kahr CM9... 50
rounds 115Gn FMJ RN reloads and 25 Winchester 115Gn JHP. Number of
failures = 0.0 = none, not that I was expecting any failures. Solid.

All CM9 shots except (6) were at 7 Yrds or 10 Yrds. I used an UpLULA to
load one stock 6 round Mag. Slapped Mag in with slide locked back,
released slide, shot and repeated about 13 times. Nothing to report
except with Kahr CM9, I shot low and left. Then genius realized put sight
picture over target not sight under target like Ruger MKIII. I brought
target to 5 yrds and figured out what I was doing wrong. At 5 yards I
drilled target.

The upper target was mostly for 50 rounds with Ruger MKIII (.22LR) at 25
yrds, and a few 9mm. I tape over holes after about 20-30 rounds as needed.

I also shot 25 rounds through the Glock 26. The Glock is still better
overall in ease, but the Kahr CM9 is a joy joy joy. Also look at the size of
the Kahr. Kahr on my side all day; forgot I had it on. Size, power,
accuracy, ease of shooting and reliability for me CM9 rocks. :D

I prefer to think of the bulge as you call it as more of a gentle curve. Much like the gentle curves found on an attractive woman. Not at all like the curves of a bran muffin eatin' woman. It's only a small difference, but as the frenchmen say, "Viva la difference."

What Jocko said

Also... the bulges are in the area of the frame where the steel slide rail is embedded. Could be they just needed material there to make it work.

Since Tinman has jacked this thread, the bulges in the pics are normal in case you have any doubts.

The CM9 used to come with a hard shell plastic case just like the PM9. I got one with my CM9, but i purchased the summer of 2011 when they were first released.

ol jocko has been known to produce a buldge now and then and no one ever complained. Just sayin.
