Howdy All...I recently obtained a K40 Elite 03 in trade for a G27 I had. The K40 is in perfect condition with box and etc. I also got five OEM magazines with it. I has night sights that appear quite bright. It even had a receipt from purchase in April 2012...The questions:

What is the difference in the Elite trigger vs the standard? I have a P9 Covert I have had for a decade and the triggers are similar with the Elite's being a bit lighter and smoother...

I read references to a shorter reset. The reset on the Elite is about the same in distance that the trigger must be allowed to return forward for reset on my P9. It is considerably longer than on a Glock for example? Is this the current or improved reset?...Its not a problem for me since I am an old geezer and learned to shoot with revolvers and carried a S&W M10 for years in the cop business...

Last...There is a fairly good bit of slack in the slide to frame fit. It will rattle a bit with the magazine out of it. My friend's MK9 is very snug...It doesn't seem to effect accuracy...

I will say that I like it far better than the G27. It fits my medium sized hand far better. The Glock used to give me a sore finger rather quickly and felt more difficult to control. The shape of the K40 and soft rubber grip as well as the all steel construction make is much easier to shoot well for me...I really like it and its going to stay as my P9 Covert has...Thanks for any replies!

botyh triggers are the same, unless it staes it has the nypd trigger. The K40 to my knowledge did not come with the nypd triger so ur elite trigger would be the same as a K40, ur elite model has beveled mag well and some more cosmetic stuff than a standard K40 but the triggers are the same.

Your K40 will not rattle with a loaded magazine, who cares what it does when the gun is not set up as it is designbed. Load a mag, insert it, My bet it willnot rattle what so ever. You have a super hand cannon in the K40 elite. If it ever gets uncomfortable, magna port it, I think Wyn on this forum has a K40 magna ported. He can give u more insight on that gun to. Your glock trigger is not a kahr trigger, so don't compare them. Both different by design..

Thanks for the response...The recoil isn't any problem since it fits my hand so well. Its certainly less than my old S&W 640-1 .357 or the S&W 500 4" that I shoot regularly...The bit of wiggle in the slide to frame fit is no real problem since its barrel to slide fit and lock up that is important when it comes to accuracy in a pistol...I figured the difference in the Elite and standard model is mostly cosmetic...I think I got the better trade in exchanging it for a Gen3 G27!...And the P9 Covert is my favorite EDC...I have had several Kahrs over the years and never a bad one..Thanks

the wiggle dissappears when a loaded magazine is in the gun..

Your elite has a somewhat polished and dehorned slide plus a beveled magwell. Compared to the std k40 those are the only differences I can think of. All Kahrs have the same trigger except the nypd k9s. And that doesn't apply here.
Enjoy your k40. Mine is my number one edc. Both my Kahrs rattle empty but are snug loaded. And as accurate as you'd expect from a compact edc. Sounds like you are gtg.

What everyone else said. The Elite has a few extra goodies. I thought it has a polished trigger and bought an MK40 Elite. There was no difference between the MK40 Elite and my MK9. The MK9 is about 5 years older and it seems to be a little smoother. The older we get etc...... I love my K40, you will love yours too! :Amflag2:

BY the way, I smoothed my trigger bar on my MK9 with a stone. There was a little bit of a hangup when I pulled the trigger slowly. All good now :)
