Dear Rodger,
Urgent: Barack Hussein Obama, Jr., will sign the UN Small Arms Treaty while Congress is on summer recess.
Please send faxes IMMEDIATELY to every member of the U.S. Senate, and urge them to filibuster this international gun grab when it comes up for ratification. Barack Obama is trying to ram this treaty down our throats, and a last ditch filibuster is the ONLY way to stop it! (http://jury.emlnk1.com/lt.php?i=539A577A11A4697)
It seems that Mr. Obama has been sitting on this treaty, waiting for Congress to leave town before he officially signs it. The White House says that it is waiting on an official English version of the treaty before it acts.
Bull.
http://grassroots.img-us3.com/admin/images/michael_connelly_usjf.jpg (http://jury.emlnk1.com/lt.php?i=539A577A11A4697) Barack Hussein Obama is planning on secretly signing this gun grab, while Congress is out of town, and, then, ramming it through the Senate in the first few days that they are back!
This is referred to as calling a "snap vote." It's a sleazy, dirty scheme to impose this wildly unpopular treaty on America.
Please send your faxes NOW. Once Mr. Obama signs this treaty, we probably won't have enough time to drum up opposition in the Senate! (http://jury.emlnk1.com/lt.php?i=539A577A11A4697)
This treaty allows the UN to regulate the sale of firearms. It will apply to "light" personal firearms, as well as ammunition.
It must never be ratified, or otherwise allowed to go into effect.
Please send your faxes today. This is a profoundly dangerous bill. And, now that Barack Hussein Obama is planning on signing it while Congress is out of town, we have to move FAST. (http://jury.emlnk1.com/lt.php?i=539A577A11A4697)
According to the UN, "Each State Party shall establish or update, as appropriate, and maintain a national control list that shall include the items that fall within Paragraph 1 above, as defined on a national basis, based on relevant UN instruments at a minimum."
Since "Paragraph 1" of the treaty specifically includes "small arms and light weapons," this is the beginning of international gun registration!
It will, according to its supporters, supersede the U.S. Constitution, and it will allow UN bureaucrats to overrule state gun laws.
Your right to protect yourself, to hunt, or even to collect guns is in grave, grave danger.
This treaty is a well thought-out scheme by Mr. Obama to repeal your right to keep and bear arms.
And, if he can bribe and strong-arm enough Senators during the Congressional recess to vote with him, this treaty will become the law of the land.
We don't have much time. Barack Hussein Obama knows that once Congress leaves town, it will be hard for the American people to pressure the Senate to vote this treaty down.
So, please, fax EVERY U.S. Senator right away. The Obama Administration is planning to use the Congressional recess to twist arms, and to bribe Senators with pork barrel projects, just like he did with OBAMACARE. (http://jury.emlnk1.com/lt.php?i=539A577A11A4697)
The American people must weigh in NOW.
http://usjf.net/images/fax_now.gif (http://jury.emlnk1.com/lt.php?i=539A577A11A4697)
If you care at all about the right to keep and bear arms, you must send faxes to EVERY Senator NOW. (http://jury.emlnk1.com/lt.php?i=539A577A11A4697)
And, while you are at it, please add to the effectiveness of your faxes by personally calling your U.S. Senators' offices at 202-224-3121. Tell them in no uncertain terms that you expect them to protect the right to keep and bear arms, and to filibuster the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty.
Sincerely,

That's been a rumored/known thing.. something about being kept by rich older white men. M is just cover, like former Gov James McGreevey (D-NJ) A falsely arranged marriage for the sake of getting elected....

Some talking head was saying that the treaty will be the law, until it is rejected by congress. He speculated that the Senate will not even bring it up for a vote, so that it will remain in effect by default. I don't know if that is true or not, but might be worth investigating further. I've also read conflicting opinions as to whether this will actually over rule the Constitution or not. I see it as another act of treason if he signs it, not that it matters to him.

Treaties are not binding until ratified. It is not possible for the Imperial Federal government to sign away your Constitutional rights via the treaty process.

Itixi, do you like small arms treaties? Or are you just saying "whatever" because you think this is blown out of proportion? Or was it the "imperial federal government" comment by codegeek? Or is this just a sarcastic comment from someone with a liberal point of view? Or something else?

I'm not trying to be sarcastic. And I am definitely not trying to incite a reaction (most here know that's not me). I just want to understand your viewpoint (in general) better because it seems like a common response from you when these types of subjects pop up.

Maybe by me asking, I'm steering the thread off track and toward lockdown, so everyone please excuse me now if this indeed happens (I hope it doesn't).

This article clears up, what treaties can and cannot do. They cannot override any part of the Constitution, or Bill of Rights, according to the document below.
http://www.libertygunrights.com/2TreatySet10Pgs.pdf

The problem is, is that the Constitution, and Bill of Rights, seems to mean very little to the current administration, and the DOJ. They seem to pick and choose what parts of those documents, they want to uphold, and which parts they want to ignore.

I've tried to stop doing that and I just removed the post in this thread. My mom tole me if'n you ain't got nothin' nice or at least productive to say...... I tend to forget that advice too often. I do stay away from the Political forum, at least.

I was born into small town Pennsylvania during WWII....pre boomer. I'm anything but Liberal when it comes to guns and gun rights.

I don't know if "blown out of proportion" fits exactly. I'm all for calm rational, discourse and reasoned argument based on fact. But incite to riot based on badly vetted cut and paste ranting most often full of distortion, half truths, and/or outright false information just flat out hurts my head. Especially when begun in General Discussion.

I got the NRA-ILA mailer on this subject today. For once I opened it....mostly prompted by remembering my whatever post. Underlines, red lines, bold urgency...but nothing I could grasp as substantively coherent.

Thanks for the honest and very civil question. Hope this adequately answers it. And I'll try harder to behave.

It's all good. ;)
And thanks for answering.

I fail to see why Zero would act on the treaty knowing it wouldn't get ratified, unless he planned to ignore the Constitution and implement it anyway. Who will stop him? Seriously - who will stop him? Name one person. I'm not joking.

While I see no evidence that he is/would even consider it, the answer to your question is obvious....no one. Anymore than anyone could stop you or me from writing a bad check. But that's why we have our trifecta system of checks and balances of power. No one person nor any single branch of the government has unilateral control.

Hmmm. Going by his track record......

How's that working out?
