Bought some critical defense ammo today for my k9 and while looking at it the question hit me. Are there any members that have opportunity to examine bodies of people who have been shot. If so is it possible to tell which specific round either penetrated the best or produced the biggest wound cavity. Sure this is probably stuff that can be searched on Google but I wanted to hear real opinions of real people that have seen first hand the kind of damage that a certain round produces.

Go on You Tube and check out the tests done in ballistic gel. My Kahr pistols love Speer Gold Dot and that happens to be one of the best defensive rounds available.

Speer 124-grain +P Gold Dots Short Barrel (GDSB)... bonded bullets. I use the short barrel version for 9mm, .40, and .45. I use Buffalo Bore or Underwood +P Gold Dots for .380.

Bruce/ljutic's tests are great. Ballistics by the Inch is a great site to see how some ammo performs with different barrel lengths... as they cut down TC barrels and they also show some real world weapons' results... very informative!

Also helpful are the published magazine articles testing new Kahrs. They list the ammo they use in the tests and let you see what they thought of accuracy and ballistics. I perused those articles extensively when I was trying to decide on my P380 ammo. Look at the articles here:

There's a lot of good information at kahr.com, but sometimes you have to dig for it!

went to:http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/index.html. Found that a lot of guns tested don’t include current models (I know, I know). Also had some typo’s (Beretta CX 4 storm ---”P” x 4 storm). Hate to be so picky but when it comes to ammo and my life, picky is good.

I've been using Federal HST because that's what the local cops are using.
However, I'm going to make a change for my pm9 based on the above information.
For my duty size weapons I'll probably stick with HST.

Thanks for all the information, I'm always learning

CX4 Storm is correct if youre looking at the test for the 16" barrel length. Its their carbine rifle version.

Didn't see it listed under the 4" length (PX4).
