Greetings,
New to the forum. Picked up a new CW-45 yesterday and am looking forward to some range time today. Thoroughly disassembled and cleaned weapon and magazine (boy it was dirty!) when I got her home. My first question (and I'm sure it won't be my last) concerns the aggressive checkering on the grip. Pretty sure I will want to wrap that, at least for range time. I've read where some have put a Handall Jr. on and I know Kahr sells one. I'm most concerned about the webbing between my thumb and trigger finger and want to cover that area without covering the mag release. Would like to hear how other members have addressed the issue.
I've got a bunch of friends who are LEO's whose input led me to buy a Kahr. I own some S&W, Ruger and Browning weapons and am looking forward to Kahr ownership.

Welcome to the forum. I guess I'm a old, old guy from Virginia.
I use a handall jr and like it though it may not cover all the way up to the tiny beavertail. Maybe a shooting glove would serve better during long range sessions.
Here's a photo.

Thanks for the welcome. Guess I will find out today how much of an issue the checkering is for me. Glove might be the best alternative as I hope I never have to use the weapon while carrying it.

A lot of people on here suggest just using a used inner tube from a bicycle. They say it does perfectly well and you can cut it so that it fits any way you want it to. I don't use a grip as I haven't found the checkering on my CM9 not to be a problem. If memory serves me correct they say a #5 tube fits best ... but I'm also an old guy so I could be wrong on that point. Below is a link to a more detailed discussion on using tubes.
BTW, I spent many years in NC until I graduated from high school. Then I went off into the world and never really lived there again ... though I've got a brother & sister & now a son & his wife & granddaughter who call NC home.

Thanks for the link Rev. Lots of good tips and your grip looks very good. Think I will give that a try.
I've been living in Carolina for many, many years. I can be in the mountains or beach in a couple of hours, the taxes are low, the weather is fine and out in the country where I live we can shoot all day and nobody cares. I'll never leave.

Well I just got back from running the first 60 rounds thru the CW-45. Took me a while to get accustomed to the long trigger pull but it is smooth as warm butter and soon i started hitting what i was pointing at. I know now that I will not need a rubber grip as the stories I've read of shredded skin were perhaps exaggerated. Had one stovepipe on my second clip which may have been limp wristed. Flawless beyond that. The gun is also quite tame for a light large caliber weapon. I was shooting 230 grain Winchesters. Anybody have a brand that they prefer in this weapon? Overall very happy on our first date!

Awesome RevRay...Where are you from in our home state? I grew up north of Durham in Roxboro area (actually a little town beside Roxboro but nobody would know where it was unless they've been there).

Oh, how I can relate to that. I grew up in a small county town (not really that) that my parents owned 5 acres of land and all then neighbors knew everybody. It wasn't anything to hear gunshots during hunting season or people going out on their land and shooting at stuff.
Hickory, N.C. CM9 & CW45. My brass reloads for the CM45 need to be sized tightly to fully chamber. Welcome.

I'm outside of Concord heading towards Mooresville. It's unusual NOT to hear somebody target shooting out here in the country.

Dale Jr country...LOL...Dale is actually about 9 months and a few days younger than I am. My dad was a HUGE Dale Sr. fan, so I still follow NASCAR and route for Jr. I've heard that the MIL (Teresa) is a real WITCH (if I could use the B word I would)

She is. I work for Mooresville, where jr. lives. We were negotiating with Teresa for some defunct DEI property. She was a nightmare. We backed out. But Jr.'s pretty cool.
