I purchased a PM9 about 6 months ago. I've put about 250 rounds thru it and it's been flawless. However, I just noticed since I started pocket carrying it that the piece of polymer that sits behind the left metal rail is protruding out a bit and is not flush with the rear of the slide. It almost looks like as the slide slides back that it catches this piece of polymer and has bent it back just slightly if that makes sense. Wish I could post a picture to make it more clear. Anyway...just curious if anyone else had had this issue?

It's normal...no worries.

Thanks for the replies. I contacted Kahr and e-mailed them a photo. They sent me a pre-paid FedEx label and want me to ship it back to them to check out. I guess it never hurts to error the side of caution, but glad to hear others have had this issue.

olsenjb,

My first Kahr, a CW9, did the same thing. I lightly sanded the area, and the "extra" polymer quickly ground off, so it was completely flush with the rear of the slide. Then, I used "0000" steel wool, and that restored the flat finish look that it had before I sanded. You can't tell I did it at all.

Shaved mine smooth with a razor blade. Took a couple minutes. Barely noticeable and now its flush with slide.

Well...just wanted to give an update. I received my PM9 back today...almost 2 weeks to the date from when I shipped it to them. Not too bad in my opinion.

All it says is that they "Reworked Ejector and Frame-Lubed and Test Fired-OK"

There is no more polymer protruding from the rear of the slide, so that's good. Any thoughts on what they mean by "Reworked Ejector"?

They always say “re-worked” something & the ejector is close to the rear. If they had said the cocking cam since its closer to the rear it would be even more puzzling. Seriously now if the gun runs as it should I would be happy.

if they said rewored injector in relation to the protruding polymer on the backthen it means nadda . Neither is even closely related..:Amflag2:

Very well could be that the reworked the ejector.

Could be they didn't like it, gave it some tweakage, and oh yah...... trimmed the hanging chad of plastic on the back of the frame.

A trip to the mothership may well result in additional nice things being done, even if you didn't know they needed doin.

Or, it could be, that guys get paid by what they do. That is - fit a barrel maybe they get a .5 hour "allowance" and to just trim the plastic... its like zero. I've worked in shops that paid a weak base pay, and good extra pay depending on what you turned out for them. In such cases, very little got turned around gratis, and it could be the mothership does it that way. Dunno.

Or it could be to appease the boss, the paper had to say something. They wanted to keep a customer happy and since his pistol came through the shop, they needed to have something fixed by Gawd, so something got "fixed".

Look at the situation from a human nature standpoint.....

I think they all have that bit of plastic hanging out in back. I noticed it on mine so i checked my buddies pm9 same exact thing. Kinda funny,
