Hi all,

I just wanted to give a quick review of my new holster for my CW9....

This is my 4th Holster from Winthrop Holsters, I have been thoroughly impressed with their quality and the fact they have many of the styles already made in stock and ship within 7 days.... Having sold my XDS 9mm in a similar set up to get back in the Kahr Game, I decided i couldn't wait for a more custom holster and wanted to carry during the hot summer months.

My usual EDC is a CZ P07 and i love it, its ergonomics are outstanding and 16+1?! lol got to love it. I carry it in a White Hat Holster and you just forget its there, it is an awesome piece of kit. However, although it carrys well and conceals moderately, it is too noticeable when wearing cargo shorts and a polo in 90+ Degree's.. So i have been wearing my XDs 9mm but i just wasn't too enamored with the grip.. it was nice don't get me wrong, but even with the small backstrap on, Talon grips and a pearce extension, it just gave me the psychological impression that i was 'hanging on'...

**Disclaimer, i receive no discount, reward nor incentive to be supportive of any product i review, if i like it i tell people.... if i don't well i still tell people lol

I digress... Here are some pics of the holster:

My CW9 is obviously fitted with the junior grip and rocking the 8 round mag... The holster is moulded well to the gun and holstering / unholstering is smooth and quiet, yet it also has adequate retention to inspire confidence. I actually like the snap belt loops, makes putting it on and off a breeze. These are 1.5inch loops to go around my SOE Gear Rigid Cobra belt, however, i do have some 1.75inch loops just in case!

Here is a shot of the upper part of the holster, you can see the reinforced mouth and the fact the trigger guard is protected, which is nice when you are carrying with one in the spout!

Here is a shot of the back, the leather is treated so is smooth and rigid but has a good level of comfort. The sweatshield also does a good job of preventing the majority of the gun touching your skin, if (like me) you simply choose to carry under a t-shirt or polo in summer.

I wear it in my golf shorts and t-shirt / polo's all day long and its extremely comfortable. I wear it with both an SOE rigid Cobra belt (1.5inch) as well as my everyday 'normal' belt, such is the comfort / design of the holster. I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone wanting a relatively 'economical' holster for summer but yet does not want to wait 10+ weeks!

Peace.

Thanks for the report on these. I have one and agree with you that they work well.

I'd be remiss to not to mention a couple of issues I have with mine.

First is with the loop snaps being a bright chrome and the snaps are not 'one-way' snaps.

Second is with the back slide cover. Note in your rear view picture how the top of the back strap impedes the grip purchase - least it does is my opinion.

On mine I went ahead and cut that portion that covers the top of the grip back to be straight and put in a nice curve at the top and then edged and burnished the portion I cut. So one of my issues with it is gone.

As far as the first issue that remains. I should look for some replacement loops, or perhaps make some to satisfy my tastes. They do work as is so that is probably why I have not dealt with it yet.

For the money, it's a nice holster and I'd get another one if I needed one. I should mention the shipping was super fast. Ordered on a Tuesday and it arrived that Saturday.

I have a Winthrop outside the waist band holster and agree that they are extremely well made and reasonably priced. It was made to carry my CM9, but I seldom wear it due to a shoulder injury that makes it difficult for me to draw the gun reaching behind my right hip.

Thanks for the follow up gentlemen...

With regards to the 'one way snaps', you can actually order those from them separately and can do is in different sizes... i have the 1.5 and the 1.75 inch loops. Or upgrade them at the time over the phone, i actually didn't order the one way snaps on this one but have them on another and i like them, just don't really need them for what this one is for so i went 'cheap' ;o)

The only 'negative' i find is that unless you put some loctite on the snaps threads, they tend to work themselves loose, i actually think they state this on the website though...

I have the same holster for my CW9 and love it. I live about 25 miles south of his shop so I stopped in one day to see them. The owner is a great fellow and took on off the rack for me and used hi gray gun to show how it fit. He didn't like the exact fit so he went in the back and came out with one right off the line I guess and it had a better fit and sold me that one. I'll buy from this fellow.

Winthrop's is just down the street from my #1 Son. You must be from Brunswick.
