I recently traded my CW9 for an essentially unused CW45. I really liked the CW9, I just wanted more punch with a carry gun. I stupidly agreed to the trade before dry-firing the CW45. It's trigger is different, in a bad way, from the CW9. When I pull the trigger slowly, to stage it, there is a perceptible delay at the end of the stroke before the striker falls. It's noticeable. If I pull the trigger quickly, I really don't notice it.

Two things: (1)I've not fired this gun yet and (2)My CW9's trigger was much crisper with a shorter stroke. Any ideas? It's on me cause I stupidly agreed to the trade and THEN dry-fired it, so I'll deal with it. I bet it wont effect function, but it doesn't feel good.

So, any thoughts on that issue and anything else you might want to share on the CW45 would be appreciated. I've become a real fan of this brand in a short time. Thanks.

see if you feel it with the slide off. If you don't then check the slide and striker. Maybe take the upper apart and clean the striker channel real good. May just be something in there.

My CW45 has a long pull but even throughout and it breaks all the way back. It also resets almost all the way forward but it is a smooth as my CW9 was before I traded it and CM9 is.

If you feel it with the slide off clean inside the frame good and there may be a booger around the trigger bar or something.

If the trigger is at the rearmost point of its travel and the striker is not quite releasing crisply, then the issue can be the cocking cam, or trigger or trigger bar. Maybe the striker itself.

Could be a fluff and buff issue, or could be a tweakage issue.

My first PM45 (which is the same as the CW45 bottom end) releases very close to the end of its travel. Just a little over-travel on the trigger. The other PM45 releases a good 1/8 inch or so before the trigger is fully back. I attibute that - on my own pistols - to slight variation on how the trigger contacts the frame and its allowable overtravel. On others tho...as seen here... could be the other parts I mentioned.

Clean and lube. Shoot it some. If it has an issue, I'd be very surprised if Kahr doesn't make it right if you call 'em. There should be just a bit of over-travel.
