View Full Version : Bawanna's Be Happy, Positive Good Stuff Thread
It seems like i remember with my AR using Iron sights that a 50 yrd. Zero = 200 yard zero. Seems like it was about 1 to 1.5 inches high at 100. My scope is about the same height as my irons. But if your scope sits a bit higher your mileage may vary.
This has been my experience, too.
With a 50yd BZO, you can expect POA to equal POI at 50 & 200 yards with maximum ordinate of approximately 1" between 50 and 200 yds. After 250 yards, the bullet drops off quickly, impacting approximately 6" below POA at 300 yards.

Now that's what I'm talking about! That's the be happy post of the week right there........
Gotta go empty my drool cup forthwith.
And another, this is a good place to put it, happy thingy....Colt 9mm New Agent just got back from a successful month long, special attention from senior customer service management, trip back to CS primarily for a failure to extract spent cases issue. FedEx round trip expenses paid for by Colt. Especially given I bought this gun out of production NOS, I be quite happy with them there folk right now. :)

Was that Brent in the Custom Shop you've been dealing with?
I'm still lookin' for a brand new production Colt SA Army, but they are only made in small numbers it seems - in addition to the company's discombobulated financial problems. Wish their managers would get their act together like the production line has.
That's kinda disappointing for a 175 year old American icon.
Another disappointing thing is the fact that Mrs. Armybrat doesn't like Mint Juleps, but instead for Derby Day is going to have a couple Jalapeno Margaritas (must be the Californian in her). And here I have all this in the pantry, and am limited to 3 ounces per week:

Well looks like your good for several weeks there. Is that big ounces or little ounces?
And you married a Californian? Is that allowed in Texarkana?

Mrs. Brat actually became a permanent Texas resident (1949) before I did (1959), although my Dad & family was stationed at Fort Sam Houston in San Antone in 1948.
I use a Texas jigger:

Damn, you'd think all that California would have worn off by now.

Yeah, it was Brent. He does the CS monitoring for Colt on the 1911 Forum. Picked up on my mild whining in a new production quality thread about failure to extract spent casings issue on my first new Colt in decades. PM'd me "insisting" I send it back to his personal attention for service. Along with, apparently, every one else, I have nothing but good things to say about the guy.

Yeah, Brent is a well-liked prominent poster on the Colt forum. Wish some American jillionaire gun guy (or investors group) would buy Colt and keep the greatness of the brand in solid hands. And pick up Harley-Davidson too.

Derby Day calls for bourbon (its a Kentucky thing, right?), not margarita's. Those are for Cinco de Mayo.

True, but as noted Mrs. Brat is a native Californian and we live in Texas.... so the Jalapeno Margaritas are her preference. However, hope you could see that two of those bottles are Texas Bourbon.
I had a shot of the Woodford's to salute the Egyptian's hoss.

A young boy went up to his father and asked him, 'Dad, what is the difference between 'potentially' and 'realistically'?'
The father thought for a moment, then answered, 'Go ask your mother if she would sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars. Then ask your sister if she would sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars, and then ask your brother if he'd sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars. Come back and tell me what you learn from that.'
So the boy went to his mother and asked, 'Would you sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars?'
The mother replied, 'Of course I would! We could really use that money to fix up the house and send you kids' to a great University!'
The boy then went to his sister and asked, 'Would you sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars?'
The girl replied, 'Oh my Gawd! I LOVE Brad Pitt! I would sleep with him in a heartbeat, are you nuts?'
The boy then went to his brother and asked, 'Would you sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars?'
'Of course,' the brother replied. 'Do you know what a million bucks would buy?'
The boy pondered the answers for a few days and then went back to his dad.
His father asked him, 'Did you find out the difference between 'potentially' and 'realistically'?'
The boy replied, 'Yes — 'Potentially', we are sitting on three million dollars.
But 'realistically' — we're living with two hookers and a homosexual.'

Well, this falls under the serious, but good news category. I work as a Parole Agent tracking sex offenders and grabbed a very high risk predator today and took him back to prison. William Akes, if anyone cares.
