The more things change the more they stay the same. Anyone who would vote for a liberal democrat is the symbol of their party.

Lots of atrocities committed by both sides during that war, but it is quite true that our government tended to paint our allies lily white. It often put us in bed with groups sympathetic to the same Islamists we now fight.
