Alright so I got my CM9 on Monday, have put about 75 rounds through it and I am certain that it pulls left. I shot about 30 rounds through it and everything was left and a tight grouping but I chalked it up to the long trigger pull and different sights for me. The next day my dad wanted to shoot it so I didn't say anything about it going left for me just to see if he noticed it (my dad has been LE for 25 years, and an incredible shot). He shot three shots, the first two left, then aimed way right, he said, and hit the target. He handed it back to me and said, "Your gun shoots left". What do I do? I've never adjusted sights, should I call Kahr? Should i just take it to a local Gun shop? I'm a little upset with Kahr that it would be like that right out of the box..

I'd say shoot it some more (couple hundred rounds) and see if it's you and your Dad just not being used to that long Kahr trigger pull. :yo:

It took me about three trips to the range and lots & lots & lots of dry firing before I got used to the long trigger pull. If you're used to searching for the take-up point on a trigger it will take a while to get used to just one smooth pull all the way through.

what the above two members stated is the correct thing to do. Your rear sight is adjustable to move left or right. Might not be an easy thing without a sight pusher but it is there to correct shooters style. My rear sight has been moved so many damn times I just now have to look at it and it starts tomove. I truly believe it is not the gun but two shoorters who are not used to kahrs loooong trigger. The fact that your dad has been in law enforcement is not a "matter of fact". He does not shoot a gun like this kahr is designed. It takes some roundes to getused to the trigger. U will get much better with it but I also will tell you if u expect 2" groups at 10 yards, that more than likely that is not gonna happen. the gun can do it, just that most shooters cannot. That looooong trigger is there by design, u have no safety on the gun otheer than that and ur brain.
U did not state at what distance u were shootin either. stay at 7 yards, my suggestion is to get a target like the FBI "Q" silhouette target with no bulls eye but a silhouette looking like a bowling pin. Keep um all in there and ur good to go.
My bet is your dad and u are right handed also. so so typical of a group for right hand shooters ho are not used to the gun yet. I bein left handed, my groups are exactly the opposite. I alsopredict you will have more lows then high shots to.
If u really want to see what ur doin wrong or right buy some snap caps throw a half dozen in with 30 rounds andlet ur dad load the magazine for you so u don't know if any or what amout of snap caps are in that magazine. Trust me, U WILL SEE FIRST HAND. Do the same for ur dad to, . The results willbe the same.
Kahr sets the sights as best as they know how, they test shoot for groups only, they can't adjust ay sight for a shooter who has a different style. Don't expect kahr to take the gun back , if u can't for any reason move your groups to the right, then MOVE THE REAR SIGHT. Thats what it is there for. Personally I think 75 rounds is no way gettin used to kahrs looooong trigger...

What you are experiencing is the result of lock time. Due to trigger finger placement or your grip you are applying pressure to the gun toward the left. Your shots are going left due to lock time. Lock time is the time from when the striker is released until the primer is struck and it is measured in milliseconds. During that time it doesn't take much pressure to cause the sights to become misaligned. No knock on your dad, but has he ever shot a Kahr pistol before? The combination of a long trigger pull and short sight radius will magnify shooting errors. I shot low and left when I first started shooting my CM9. Here's a link to a video that may be of help.

What Jocko and Rev Ray say is true. I'm left handed ad seemed to shoot to the right when I first bought the PM9. What I found out later on after a few hundred rounds is that I was pushing the trigger to the right and I was trying to shoot it like all my other pistol. When I adjusted my grip to fit the smaller frame, and learned to pull the trigger straight back the whole length of the pull in one smooth motion my accuracy improved dramatically. Plenty good enough to stop a threat 10 Yds in anyway.

Whoa, my brain just exploded from all that data.
To agree with muggsy I can shoot my Kahr's great but I can't shoot my 92fs worth a crap for the same reasons. My son bullseye's everything with it. He has a smaller hand size though.

WOW! Just got some knowledge dropped on me! I think I might have jumped the gun, no pun intended, on the issue. BUt nonetheless, glad I mentioned it because I just learned alot about triggers and Kahr triggers especially. That video muggsy posted was very informative. Fairly new shooter here (brand new to Kahr and DA only) and I'm used to a Sig with a DA/SA trigger, so like has been mentioned I am going to focus on the trigger and placement of my finger, send 100 or more rounds down range before i go adjusting anything. thanks

When I put the first 100 rounds down in my CW I could only get groups around POA if I really concentrated on breathing and trigger control. If I shoot a bit more naturally I was left and slightly low.

Its a defense gun, getgood at 7 yards, get damn fast at 7 yards, IMO see that frontsight clearly and fire away. If u thik for a momentin a SHTF situation ur gonna line the front, back and badguy up, ur probabvly dead. appreciatethese kahrs for what they were designedfor. They are extremely light, they are extremly small. they have a 3/8"trigger travel thatis the smoothest in the industry, they are very accurate with practice but again IMO ractive the way u might have to fight, Ur not gonnaget a benchg ot rest off of. Therewillbe no bullseye on the BG.. everything must be automatic with you if u need to use that gun. Get good and dependable in racking a live round if needed, or cleanig a jam or misfire. Practice does not make perfect BUT perfect practice does. Don't compare a kahr to any outher gun u have owned or own,if ur gonna carry a kahr get good at it, know its workings inside and out. This forum has more wisdom than any forum out there and everyone of the guys is willing to help if asked correctly. Shelton07, ur ok with your kahr, give it and u a chance to mate up. Thatisthe key to shooting these kahrs.
Thereis no really foolish question, ifone truly doesn't know...

Well, Jocko, if you want to talk self defense I can sum it up in just three words. Point, shoot, repeat. :)

+1000 George Zimmerman was able to hit Trayvon in the heart with a crummy Kel Tec 9 without even aiming....Thats how most gunfights go, they happen extremely fast, they are up close, very personal, and nasty ...It's more about having the will and less about the skill....
