I continued the break in on the CW45 I posted on before. I put 50 rounds of 230 gr FMJ Blazer Brass without a single problem. I then put 40 rounds of 200 gr +P Gold Dot. Only hiccup was a premature slide lock when I nudged the slide lock. I felt myself do it.

that's over half the break in done with three different ammunitions. The only hiccup was the self-induced one I described. Also, the trigger breaks very nicely now. I'm very satisfied but will probably not be using +P self defense ammo. It bites ! Overall, I'm very satisfied. Just have to master the trigger so I stop shooting low and left, but that's improving also.

that's good news.... I imagine lefties don't have the same slide lock issues as righties...

No doubt. I've got big hands, it's a small gun-my thumb has a hard time finding where to go.

That is indeed good news. You'll get a handle on that thumb in no time.

I keep both my thumbs straight forward, never seem to hit the lever but I could just be lucky too.

+P through my P45 and TP45 seemed to break my grip enough that it slowed me down, forcing me to readjust a little bit after each shot. I used a grip sleeve with a finger bump to soften the recoil and firm up the grip. It eases the rasp like feel on the skin too. IMHO, a good $8 investment resulting in improved shooting comfort.

Second using the grip sleeve on the cw45.

I used a qwik grip, but it seems they may no longer be in business?

Midway has discontinued them, lonewolf no longer lists them on their website and the qwikgrip.com website has been gone for a while now.

Can still find them if you look at places like amazon, but imagine those will eventually dry up as any inventory runs out.

The bicycle tube may make a come back for my next grip sleeve.

I have been shooting kahrs for a few years now and do find the rubber slip on of any kind helps. I like the free used inner tube . I have never hit the open open on a small kahr but I bought a full sized 1911 and whats the first thing I do with it. Thumb the slide lock up while shooting. Took me doing it twice to realize what was happen. Gota learn all over again.

Just a question...does anyone notice a leg of a spring that rubs on the inner boarder of the trigger bar? I can actually hear it creak as it slides over it. I thought maybe it is a retaining spring. Just not sure.

I too use inner tubing on all the kahrs I have had, makes a big difference, I'm glad my daughter ran over a nail!
