Hey guys, I'm brand new to the forum from st. Louis and just recently bought the cw45. During the 200 round break in, I had several ftf. The bullet would fire, but the next round would jam going into the chamber. I've also had this after the break in period several times. I've shot American eagle, pmc, and some federal jhp rounds (not sure exactly which one). Do you know if any particular is not really good with this gun. I love the gun and refuse to sell it, but I wanna feel as confident carrying it as I do with my Glock 23.

have u visited the kahr tech section and hit on wyns thread, and also the kahr lube chart. and the propper prepping of ur kahr threads. All of these will give u some things that u might need to check to be sure allis OK with the gun....

Hello cityus1, welcome to the forum...Many many good folks here that will help you out with any issues you may run into....The ammo you are using is fine for break in and many folks use Wal Mart Winchester or Remington range ammo for general target shooting use....DO look at the new Kahr stuff Jocko mentioned and make sure the pistol is clean and lubed properly then shoot 3-4 hundrounds through it and it will operate like a different gun....
Don't get discouraged if it has a few FTF until break in is completed, just work through it and it will improve in time, Kahr pistols are super tight when new and need some rounds through them before they smooth out and behave...
The only ammo issues people seem to have is brands that have bullets that run on the long side or cheap steel case stuff so if you stay with new US made range ammo or even reloads from Atlanta Ammo which many ranges use and is good stuff you should be good to go....DO get and keep a firm grip on it when firing which will prevent limp wrist FTF problems and DO read the manual cover to cover because there's some different things with Kahrs having to do with take down/reassembly that will trip you up if you don't know about them...
Shoot it some more and report back with your results and again welcome aboard!!!

Kahr recoil assy's are quite stiff when new. You mentioned American Eagle and Federal ammo which I've found to be somewhat under powered - PMC seems to be okay. It could be that until the springs loosen up some, the ammo you are using is not strong enough to cycle the pistol properly.
BTW, my Kahr's, seven in all including two CW45's, have proven to be more reliable than my son's Glocks. I carry a CW45 about 75% of the time, and neither of the two I've owned have ever failed.

My Glock hasn't failed me once. I bought it five years ago used, and I'll never sell it. I love the kahr as well. It gets expensive breaking it in though hahaha. I will definitely get it going and keep it.

If you try to rack it by hand how does it work out? Does it jam the same way?
It should work it self out but if your like me and like to tinker try this. Mine has functioned 100% since I fixed a trigger problem I had. One thing I did though that made mine feed incredibly smooth was polish the feed ramp, chamber, breech face, extractor (inside the little claw), barrel, etc... Anywhere any metal touched metal I smoothed or polished. Don't get crazy and remove any metal though. I used 1000 grit paper and mag wheel polish to make it shiny.
Run it oiled wet then next time and you may be really amazed.
