My I am a curious fellow, anyway since Buzzy got this nice little camera for close up shots I thought I might try taking some shots of barrels. I’m amazed on the quality of the photos. I did this on three barrels, not long ago I got a XDM 3.8 looking at the photo of it could have been a better finish on it, that’s the first photo the second photo is the ED BROWN barrel I put in my 1911 much nicer finish and for the third photo my trusty little CM9, got to say the finish on the kahr barrel was pretty good I lost count on how many rounds I put thru the CM9 between 1500 and 2000 still looks good :59:

Great photos.
I've always wanted to see what a hollow point would look like in a barrel from the receiving end so I shined a flashlight into the barrel and looked into a mirror. VERY COOL!
I wonder how it would look through your camera?
If you try it, be careful.

Nice close ups. Here's my favorite barrel shot. I didn't take it but I really like it. Can you name this model of pistol?

Beretta PX4, or a Cougar. That barrel rotates. Second look more likely the cougar.

HK P7... gb6491 nailed it. The fluted chamber is a big clue.

Didn't see that. Does the P7 bbl rotate? Look at the lock up on it.

No, the P7 barrel is fixed to the frame. The notch you see at 5:00 is for the extractor. The feed ramp is at about 7:00. If you look in the same area of the chamber you'll see a missing flute. That is where, in the forward throat area, that the hole is to feed expanding gas to the gas cylinder and the piston that comes sliding rearward to retard recoil.
This picture always captures my attention because of the outstanding machining, the beauty of that forged barrel, and the total design. it's a neat gun.
Here's a cutaway.

Here's one of my P7s with a nice Kahr T9. Note how similar they are; same size, same weight, striker fired, 4" barrel, 9mm, 8+1 mag, all steel, and both have that "german" sounding name. ;)
