My local gun shop has this beauty (https://parkergunandgame.3dcartstores.com/Ruger-1132-102222-Long-Rifle-185-Black-Laminate-Mannlicher-Stock-Lke-New_p_328.html) for sale, and I'm heavily trying to resist the urge to go get it! I already have an old 10/22 carbine that I love, but this thing looks amazing IMO (I know some people despise the Mannlicher stock, but I think its great on this gun).
I've even considered seeing what he'd give me on trade for my 10/22, but at the same time I don't think I could part with it. It's my go to squirrel/plinking gun, and I'm afraid I'd want to be too careful with this one....but it sure would go nice next to my Savage....

I've never been a fan of laminated stocks, but whatever trips your trigger, man. Good luck with your decision.

Pretty AND fun!
You just need to find 22lr's!
And no you can't reload then yourself......;)

Oh, I've got the 22lr scene covered....literally 1000s of those. Bass Pro has been getting ammo pretty regularly now. I was there last night and they had thousands and thousands of 5.56, 9mm, 40, 45, 357, etc etc etc

I love Mannlicher stocks and laminate is really tough.
I have one of the early 44 versions. I'd go for it if you can.
You can say it's for Saorise to learn on when it comes time. I gotta check my spelling on that, thought I had it for awhile, now I'm not sure.

Almost got it... Saoirse. And yeah that would be one argument...though my wife may just ask why she couldn't learn on the one I already have...without the mannlicher stock. I'm also trying to talk my father in law into it....someone else spend the cash so I don't get in trouble, but I could still feel around on it when I wanted and possibly get it someday.

Dammit, that's how I had it spelled the first time and I second guessed myself. Maybe I'll get a small tattoo on my arm so I don't screw up again.
Course I may end up with a lot of small tattoos on my arms soon the way I'm forgetting stuff lately.

It's a nice looking rifle, I would mind having one.

I've always liked the Mannlicher style stocks on most anything. So much so I picked up a Mossberg 46M last year that I plan on refinishing one of these days.
But, I've never been a fan of laminate stocks. It would be a toss up for me.

I have one of the 46M's myself, one of the ones that went to Britain as training rifles and then came back. Thing is a tack driver and for looking so heavy it's remarkably light and fun to shoot.
My son liked it so much he got the commercial version with the tube feed magazine.
Hope I got my model numbers right.

Looks good. Great stock for that gun. Buy it. Do not get rid of your "day" 10-22, though. You'd come to regret that.

Father-in-law is spelled just like Commander-in-Chief. With hyphens. Jocko, help this poor boy out. :)

Sounds about right. Mine is tube fed and born on date, from best I can find, is post-war perhaps into the '50s. Even came with the period correct scope that is "pretty" clear, considering.

I've seen the same 10/22 but with the regular wood stock, (Birch?), instead of the laminate with stainless metal. It is a very attractive rifle. If I come across one again I'm going to buy it. Kick myself for passing on it. I think the price was around $400.

Looks good Justin. I was never a big fan of Laminate stocks but that ugly stock on my Mosin Nagant turned out pretty darned nice after I stripped all the old crap off it, and gave it a little sanding, staining and a few coats of Tung Oil

One can never own to many 22lr rifles.;) Might as well scratch that itch and run on over there and get it. You can always beg for forgiveness later. By telling her it was a pure case of temporary insanity. :D

I too had a Mossberg 46M. It's one of the rifles I sent with my son when he married and moved out. He also has my 10/22 Birch and stainless and my Browning BL22. Between those three he should be able to teach my grandson how to safely and proficiently shoot.
It is because I gave away my other 10/22 that the Mannlicher syle caught my eye. I miss that Ruger.

justinN,
You didn't ask for my advice but I'll give it anyways. It's truly a good looker but you already have a great 10/22. Pass on this one and keep looking for that lever gun. It's good to be spontaneous but keep your eye on the prize.

I, like many, love the 10/22. I think everyone should have at least one, if not two. But personally I don't care for laminate or that style stock. But if you like it then by all means get it.
