I know I have some AK fans here, so thought you might enjoy a couple pics of my Veprs. First my .308, posted here before. I think that one is complete, but am still debating the forearm and coating the rifle a different color.

Below that is my new 5.56 Vepr. I used the new Archangel AK stock and grip. Very nice gear. The stock is far more robust than any other polymer one I have used. Feels like you could drive fence posts with it. I am going to add a muzzle brake this weekend, and am still sorting out the forearm. This one will either get an SGM polymer unit or a rail system. The plan then is to Duracoat in Leopold Dark Earth. I am moving away from ARs and back to the AKs that were my first love in rifles. Fortunately there are some nice choices on the market right now.

STOP POSTING THESE!!!
I really like my .308 Saiga in it's stock form, but these absolutely stunning rifles of yours have me wavering on the verge of conversion.

Greg

I agree. I know nothing about those things but I'd love to have that 308.

I don't think I have enough mental capacity left to start a VEPR learning process.

Mmmmmm..... Note to self, don't look at this thread again. It could cost me money.

I am sorry guys, I am evil that way. I got Marc Galli at Kahr into AKs a few years back and it cost him plenty. I have been doing some soul searching on my collection and just decided to focus on AKs for long guns. Since the Veprs are affordable now, I am going that route. Heavy barrel, RPK trunion, and better fit/finish that Izhmash guns. So out the door went some other stuff.

The .308 is actually pretty accurate. I got a surplus IOR scope for the PSL, set up at 125, and busted hedge apples time and time again use Silver Bear .308. Definitely minute of deer capable. :) My son used it for his first hunting trip so now it can never leave the collection. He already claimed it for when he is grown. I need the 5.56 to fall back on.

Well thanks to your boy I don't need to make any kind of offer, kind of a relief I guess when I ponder it.

I've got Schofield fever and have had for some time or I'd be draining your brain trying to get me one of these.

Are they true 308 or 311 like most of the other soviet stuff. Will our over the counter .308 stuff shoot ok?

I told you I don't know nothing about these right?
