The new recoil springs for my P380 arrived on Monday, just three days after I contacted Jay. The new springs were much stiffer than the springs that they replaced. On Tuesday I went to the range with 50 rounds of Blazer brass and twenty rounds of Speer Gold Dot HP. The first mag full of Blazer ammo fed fine. During the second mag the gun experienced one FTF and in the third mag one FTF and one stove pipe jamb. They balance of the Blazer Brass and all of the Gold dot fed flawlessly. I'm hopeful that the P380 is healed, but want to run another 50 rounds to be sure. One observation that I made was that Blazer Brass is some of the dirtiest ammo that I've run through this gun. When I finished it looked like I had run 200 rounds through the gun instead of just 70. With ammo availability what it is I was lucky to find Blazer Brass. Note to self, avoid Blazer Brass in the future.

I know nothing about 380 but we use Blazer Brass 45 for training ammo at the dept and I've not noticed the dirty issue.
Wonder if it was a bad batch or maybe only the 380 is dirty?

Try a different junk ammo. Many ammo makers are working at 100%+ capacity and some junk does get out. . How dirty ammo shoots never bothered me. I tend to use magtech and Remington/umc on new handguns as I know it runs well for me and if it will run threw 400 to 500 rounds of that stuff it will not stop up do powder buildup.

I reload with power pistol and it's very clean burning with low flash. I'd compare the residue from the Blazer Brass similar to what you get when you use Unique.

I did a detailed strip of my P380 slide. I found that the extractor was very dirty. After cleaning it I polished the underside with it a bit with Flitz and a cotton swab. I also shortened the rear extractor pin by .010 at Jocko's suggestion to reduce the spring tension a bit. The gun seems to cycle rounds by hand much more reliably. If the gun digests the next 50 rounds without a bobble I'll consider it fixed.

When breaking in my MK9, I had 3 fte's with Blazer, after shooting 50 rds. Shot 150 rds. of Fiocchi prior to that with no problems...................I think the Blazer might be a tad weak in the power dept. Just my observation.............

Blazer Brass for sure is not the hottest .380 ammo available, but it should be hot enough to cycle the gun.
