Found out I'm going to have my second grandchild. That's a good start to the day!

My son in law is a newbie to guns and recently got his concealed carry permit. I've been trying my best to teach him as much as possible regarding safe gun handling, maintenance and of course proper shooting techniques. Kid never had a father growing up. Took him out back to the range today with my 3 latest acquisitions, a Sig P238, a Walther PPK/S and the CW45. All three guns were flawless and the little bastard shoots better than I do. He's got his mind set on an HK p2000sk 9 mau-mau for his first gun which is a nice piece for sure but that Kahr's got him thinking twice I can tell. And he could buy 2 Kahr's for the price of that HK.

Btw, the Walther .22 which has been poo-poo'd by numerous 'experts' who have never actually shot one as an air soft pot metal knock off has now run 200 flawless rounds through it after 2 fte's in its first two clips, both of which occurred on the second round. Shoots 2" groups at 25 feet too.

Congrats on the good news Grandpa. I have two grand kids too. They're great!!

The P2000sk is a spectacular pistol. Don't talk him out of it... talk him into starting a collection.

Remember he's got a daughter to support. Don't go to heavy on that collecting business just yet. And now a couple grandkids too.

Life changing events those things.

Kid just drove 180 miles round trip to pick up his HK. Hard to believe $1000 pistols are in short supply too. Anyway he's hooked. We will prep and shoot it tomorrow.

Congrats!
Now tell that kid to be responsible, and give that gun to you, as you know this is an expensive hobby!

Now that's a coincidence, we just had our second grandchild. Maybe we're related by birth? :)

Rained all day here in Carolina but the kid came by hoping for it to let up enough to go shoot his new HK down behind the house. I showed him how to disassemble, clean and prep the weapon before mama had supper ready. Still raining pretty good after dinner and the light was fading so I got in trouble with the wife by chucking 2 tin cans off the front porch and letting him run 20 rounds thru it. Gotta love country living. Then I had him disassemble and clean the gun, which is a prime example of superb German engineering.

...which is a prime example of superb German engineering.

Amen to that. A spectacular gun. Larger than the Kahr K9 shown, but not by too much. Hope he enjoys his new P2000sk. For range practice, I buy 10 round USP compact mags, which can be found cheaper, sometimes by half, than SK mags. They are too long but, the mag base gives my pinky a place to rest.
