I have a question regarding the characteristics of the K40. I have a Glock 23 and wonder if the K40 is a better shooter recoil-wise. I would assume so since it's stainless steel. Thoughts?
Oh, and I have a comptac MTAC and OWB paddle holster for the K9... Will the K40 fit? Thanks!

The holster will fit for sure.
The recoil question is subject to interpretation.
The K40 to me is snappy, a lot of muzzle flip. Not uncomfortable but a lot of flip to me.
I had mine magna ported and that helped knock the edge off but I still find I prefer my PM45 between the two. Looks wise the K40 wins hands down though.
Been a long time since I shot a Glock 40 but I don't recall it being so snappy although I'm sure the 27 is at a little bit.

A G23 is about 3 ounces lighter than a K40, but it is also about 3/4" longer.
A lighter gun should "kick" a little more, but other things being equal (they seldom are), a longer gun should have less "flip" because it has a greater moment of inertia.
In practice, a 12% (more or less) difference in weight and length is probably not significant. Shoot what you like.

I'll admit I found the k40 recoil pretty harsh at first. But I shot the snot out of it and got used to it quick. Now I don't mind at all. As a side benefit, shooting the k40 got me to shore up my grip which helps me shoot any pistol. All my groups tightened. Have fun. Sorry I cannot compare.

I got a line on one nearby and a benefit would be that my holsters are the same as my K9. I will admit that I am not as accurate with the 40 vs the 9 but am consistently center mass with the 40 (dead on nuts with the 9)

I love my K40, had it magna-ported and tamed it quite a bit, sorry not a Glock fan at all

I shoot my K40 at least as well as I shoot my G23, maybe better. I haven't done a side by side comparison. My K40 is the carbon steel version with the softer rubber grip and night sights. I know the G23 holds twice the payload but that K40 sure feels good in the hand so it gets carried.

I am really leaning on picking the K40 up. I shoot the G23 pretty well, already have holsters that work, and know how to maintain it from owning the K9.

I have both. To me there isn't a nickels difference in the recoil between the two. The G-23 is my duty weapon. Off-duty I carry my K40 almost exclusively because of how well it carries and fits my hand.
