I just picked up this slide on gunbroker: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=359244254
Will it work on my T9 frame with a new barrel,magazine, guide rod, and recoil spring to convert to 40 S&W? Also, would it be possible to do an extractor swap and use it to shoot 9mm or am I going to run into breech face issues? Perhaps someone who has a T9 and a T40 would be kind enough to see if the slides would interchange. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
If it ends up not working, it's still a good deal for spare parts.
Here is the update. Sorry it took so long. Had quite a few issues getting this to work. Short story: Bead blasting would not take. The consensus was that it was plated or hard chromed. The barrel lug had to be ground down in order to not strike and lock up in the T9 frame, and the sights were a HUGE PITA to install. I had to file off several thousandths on the front sight and then use a pusher and then finally a hammer an punch. Luckily I did not shatter the vial.
She may not be pretty, but she is functional. Here are the pics.
