View Full Version : P9 vs PM9 recoil
Anyone fired both these guns? Do you feel there's a significant difference in recoil/ease of handling between the two?
The PM with a Pearce grip extension fits my hand perfectly and I like the gun's concealability, but I was wondering if P9 steps you up to a difference in felt recoil and makes it funner to shoot, or nah not really that big a difference.
I'm new to the forums and grateful for any info.

I haven't shot both but my PM9 is a great shooter. I have small hands so it fits me well; I've put 200 down range in a couple of hours and no issues with recoil. And it's so easy to conceal. If you're concerned, find someplace to shoot them. My experience is just digits in the wind for you; the only way to know for sure is to handle them. Good luck.

I was initially concerned with the smaller frame of the PM9, so I bought a CW9. I love it. I later bought the PM9, and I still felt it might be a problem with only 2 fingers on the grip, but to my pleasant surprise.... it was not a big deal at all. I really enjoy shooting both pistols.

Haven't shot the pm9 yet but my cw9 doesn't bother me at all. Obviously the pm and cm series will have more recoil. I like the extra round and the longer barrel.

I owned both at the same time. Ultimately got rid of my PM9, never warmed up to the shorter grip. I love my P9 but even it has become a safe gun with me favoring my TP9 more and more for carry. I didn't particularly find the PM to have more recoil than the P. If there was any, it was minimal. It was mostly just not having as much grip to grab onto that made it seem to be a bit harder to hold onto. I had the grip extensions as well, didn't really help me that much, so YMMV with the grip extensions.
My 2 cents.
