Anyone know if attaching two 10 rnd AR mags together is legal in calif? Is there a device to do such available?

Thanks

If I do this, it looks like I will have to use 20 rnd mags limited to 10 because the 10 rnd mags are not long enough to secure together with anything out there,

Are they setting up checkpoints along the highway to check for illegal mags.

This is one of many laws that would go completely unnoticed by me.

Are there no Hi Cap mag grandfather clauses down there? Probably not.

No checkpoints yet.

yes there is a grandfather clause in the law but I do not have mags with a serial number showing pre ban date.

Yes this would go unnoticed until the LEO asked me to open the trunk or if I happen to be on the side of the road and my trunk is open, I could open myself up for a looksee by a LEO.

I try to obey the law if possible. A felony charge isn't something I take lightly.

I have had a friend that winters in Palm Springs. At his local range they DO check to insure all Calif. laws are obeyed.

That's sad. Big brother using the ranges (which are far to few and only trying to stay in business) to act as their police.

I would not frequent that range personally.

I can solve this problem for you. In a word, move.

We still got room up here. I'm thinking of becoming Alfonse's neighbor, want I should find you a place in the neighborhood too. No trouble.

You'll like it, nice warm weather on his side of the mountains, big lake, good fishing, a destination town for bikini clad beauties. Got it all, cept me. Yet.

As a bonus I even got a truck driving son in law. I'll have him find a box trailer and maybe get it all in one load.

Come to Ohio. We'll let you shoot off anything you want except your mouth. :)

Thanks guys for the warm offerings. I am thinking Ecuador. CCW is allowed there and I am allowed one 9 mm and one shotie and stuff is cheap there. Not ideal gun wise but affordable and I can be lost.

If I bug out, I'll have to sell my AR. Too bad, I like having it in my trunk. Makes me fell secure knowing it is there.

I've read a little about Ecuador and the ex-pats down there. It seems like a pretty good place to escape to, if necessary. Where did you find the information on arms? I didn't know that pistols and scatterguns were okay.

I found it on an ex pat blog and I verified it by searching Ecuador's gov website. It was all in Spanish but I felt my Spanish was strong enough to comprehend what was said. Basically, you are allowed ONE of each and you have to go through a permit process. Basically if you pay the $ you are good to go. I'll do a quick search and see if I come up with anything and post it here. Probably wont be the same stuff I read but lets see what's out there.

I have strong Spanish skills. Actually none but I find when we say put your hands behind your back, your going to jail the English comes right out almost instantly. It's like magic.

I strongly urge you to find a place in the homeland to reside, it's pathetic right now but I still feel we're gonna fix it and make it better.

I've in the past had similar feelings about fleeing but we got way too much effort tied up here to give up now.

I understand your sentiment and I am writing in your name on the next election so I don't have to go. However, since you entertained the idea of fleeing in the past, you already smelled what I am stepping in.

Precisely weedhopper!

That sad thing is one man or one half man in my case with all the common sense in the world and all the good intentions in the world can't fix it if all the dumb arse's already seated in the congress and the senate don't want to let him.

Somehow we need to start fresh, clean slate. Play the start over card.

PS- I'm swimming in what you stepped in and I've had a belly full of it.
