Begins?

I believe this program is several years old already.

Seems it was started in 2007.

Reasons to have guns confiscated in CA: These reasons were expanded to include people who are behind on state taxes, did not pay toll fees in a “timely” manner and a wide range of other minor misdemeanors or reported mental health concerns. I would bet that the list continues to grow.

What scares me is that many people THINK the police officers won't carry through with this garbage, but why would any of us expect the doorbusters are told WHY they are arresting someone or WHY the firearms are being confiscated. At best, they will only be told that the person is highly armed and dangerous. Therefore, the stormtroopers will carry out their orders without question. Scary.

The gun that miraculously survived the boat sinking will be given out one bullet at a time.

All you folks that think you are going to hold off a SWAT team for very long, are living in a fantasy world.

Not trying to hold out forever. And depending upon the team they may bring in yes you can last quite a while. Many of the small jurisdictions teams are sadly lacking in armament and tactical training/ability.
