Are the K series inherently more reliable then the polymer series because they have much more metal for the slide to ride on?

Maybe, maybe not. The all steel Kahr pistols sure feel nicer in the hand, though.

what about glcks, they have no more material than what kahrs really have on their polymer frames. I can't speak for all kahr but my PMJ9 has over 32K rounds out of it andnever a hic-cup. let alon e showing any signs of wear ANYWHERE.. If feel better withsteel, buy it, just gonna be a heavier gun over anything else kahr offers. Aloot of shooters love steel, so its not a sin.

Yeah what he said^^^^^^^^
What matters is you preference poly or all steel... I'm not a fan of poly but that's just me.

I do think the steel framed Kahrs are more reliable but (maybe) not because of the frame rails. There's probably more to it than that. Maybe the polymer Kahrs are just harder to break in (?). Most of the complaints posted in this forum are in the first few hundred rounds. With that said I think the cm9 is calling my name. So far it's the only polymer pistol that has even tempted me.

I truly believe Kahrs are reliable but they are not fool-proof. Some say they are better off in the hands of experienced shooters/owners. All I know is that, with skill and care, you can bet your life on them...steel or polymer.

I think the all steel models may be a little more forgiving of a crappy grip or limp wristing. Just through the benefit of a more stable platform.

I really can't recall my PM9 ever burping. But, neither have my K9's.

I have Glocks and I have Kahrs. While the polymer firearms are nice to carry, they just don't have the same sex appeal as my K40. I bet my life with the realibility of either brand and material.

I think you're right. I have an MK40 and I shoot it better than my PM9, even though it's slightly smaller. It has to be the weight. The flip side is that the PM is more versatile when it comes to carry.

As far as polymer v steel, I've have owned six polymer Kahrs and one steel, and they've all been 100%. I don't think it makes much difference when it comes to reliability.
