From Kahr's website:
UPDATE ON CW3833 AND CM4543 SHIPMENTS
Due to the unprecedented demand on our entire line of American made “C” series products, the highly anticipated launch of the CW3833 and the CM4543 has been delayed until late fall.
To our valued customers and dealers, we apologize for this delay. Our staff has worked feverishly during the summer months to catch up but demand has continued unabated for our current products and especially the CW and CM series. We have taken this action to formally announce this delay in shipping until late fall. Please revisit our website in the fall for updates on shipping status.

When Rolex introuduces a new watch model it is at least a year plus before it hits the dealer showrooms. Just seems like poor plannig for any company to advertise and get everyone excited about their noew model only to hav epeope wait a year plus to have a shot at getting one.
Look at Detroit they show these now Protypes cars and fokk they don't even have a motor in them... Ifu want a kahr 380, IMO go spend the exstra bucks and get tyhe P380. not like eatin a burger and then tomorrow u hve to eat anutter burger. Bit the bullet now, spend alittle ore, get alittel more BUT YOU HAVE IT NOW TO. Kahr wold feel like sh!it if they finally start making the cw380 and then no one buys it and simply tells um, well we had to wait a year for it, so u can wait a year before we decide to buy it. It can work both ways, but normally it doesn't Never bet on the ***!!
...she has patients.... :(
She's a doctor???....:p
I've been waiting for the CW380 also. Since I have no patience, I bought a Ruger LCP and my wife has a S&W Bodyguard380. Guess I'll just put the CW380 on next years wish list.

It's market strategy. Get everyone worked up in a shark feeding frenzy wanting what ever the new thing is. Get the word out.
Tons of folks chomping at the bit to get one when they do finally get out.
Course the hazard is if they wait too long and people get the attitude you mentioned. Course that doesn't hurt them either, probably why they can't get the CW's out, so many people tire of waiting and buying the P's.
Can't blame Kahr in the least, they are swamped and it's all Ovomits, I mean Bush's fault.

It is a brilliant marketing strategy. Why do you think virtually EVERY company does it. Heres a hint...Because it works.
