Using 125 grain Sierra spitzer bullets over Winchester 296 powder with COL 2.060, I wanted to try a range of charges.
According to load data from Hornady, the minimum charge is 16.7 and the maximum is 17.8 grains. So I loaded five each of 16.7 gr, 17.2 gr and 17.6 gr.
The first photo is of the group from the 16.7 gr charge. The second photo is of the group from the 17.2 gr charge. The last photo is of the group from the 17.6 gr charge.
Clearly the best results were with the middle charge. It is fun to experiment!
