I have availble to me 50 rounds of Hornady TAP 9mm 147 grain defense ammo. Has anyone put this through their CM9? I was leaning more towards carrying a 124 grain defense ammo. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Jim

That particular ammo did very well in my CW9, sadly Hornady discontinued it and now I'm running Critical Duty 135grn in both my CW9 and CM9. Although every pistol is different, the CD 135grn has been the most accurate in 4 different Kahrs that I have tested (in lieu of the 147grn TAP,) even over Speer 147grn Gold Dots.

I shot Winchester PDX1 147gr exclusively in my Kahrs until I moved to the 135gr Critical Duty. Heavier is better IMO. Just personally like the way that weight shoots in the Kahrs. I like the Critical Duty just fine, its actually a bit softer shooting (standard load) than the PDX1. But the PDX1, even though a current product, was just too hard to find locally and I couldn't get it in enough quantity even online. The shortage made it non-existent.
But w/ regard to your situation, w/ only 1 box and the fact that is harder to find now, I'd only consider it range ammo. In my opinion, it'd be hard to find enough of it to run a couple hundred rounds thru to feel comfortable w/ it. I mean, I haven't read much on this forum about any particular ammo that Kahrs are finicky with. But EVERY gun is different, even same models, enough to the point that ANY gun I'm gonna carry and trust my life to has to AT LEAST feed 200-250 rounds flawlessly, back to back. Ultimately I feed more than that over time, that's just my minimum expectation. But that's just me.
I'd stick w/ the direction you were headed. Or take a look at the CD 135gr in standard or +P. You'll be able to stock more of it and feed enough to be comfortable.

I carry Fed HST 147 gr. and my MK seems to use it just fine, and I like the way it shoots. Seems to be easier to find.............Nothing wrong with 124 gr. though.

I wasinmy local walmarttodayt and they had ammo out the ass. 9mm, Federal, Winchester, some off brand, and quanties. Still 3 box liit. They had at leat 50 boxes of 22 stingers and I have not see that ammo in ages either. No bulk boxes of 22 lr but plenty of 50 roundboxes, but still onlyt 3 box limit. Wife bought 3 boxes and I bought 3 boxes of 9mm 115 less 10%because I am just a hell of a nice guy, bringing thecost of the100 pak to $22. She did saya though thatthey will be out by 7 p.m tonight..
Critical Duty 135 gr. standard pressure has been testing nicety from what I've seen.
If I couldn't find Gold Dot I'd probably go that route.

My CW40 feeds, fires and ejects every thing that I have tried. Critical Duty has been superb.

Yep, SGA is where I've been gettin' mine. Great price, Great company. Hard to beat the CD 135 or the 135 +P at the SGA prices.

Yup. I bought 6-8 25rd boxes at Sportsman's Warehouse last year to run tests thru my TP9. Those were $19.99 and $21.99 at the time. After that, SGA starting listing the 50 round boxes and I've been buying those up pretty frequently. At the height of the insanity earlier this year, SGA was still selling the 50rd (std and +P) for $27/box, which was CHEAPER than buying FMJ range fodder at the time. At .50-.60 per round for a premium round when most everything else out there is $1/round, even at SGA...not bad, not bad at all.
