Too much altitude. Too much pot. Too many liberals and progressives.

Love to see Hickenlooper crying like a baby. Evidently, teaching elected officials a lesson does nothing to further representative democracy.

How could anyone in their right mind vote for anyone named Hickenlooper. Just from the name he had to be a freakin loon.

I live here and we are recalling two state senators in a few weeks then going after a a few more. The sheriff lawsuit is leading a major push to right the wrong too. Things are changing for the better...

CO is one of the most politically divided states. I have friends and family there. The Front Range and to the east is uber liberal. As you get farther west into the mountains it becomes very conservative. Sadly the FR's have the most active voters.
The Back Westers need to step up and take command as numerically they can beat the Front Rangers.

You guys are being far too critical of these progressives. Look at their side for a minute and you can maybe see why they are like they are. How would you like to wake up in the morning and know you have to face the day with a name like Hickenlooper. Bloom- anything. How about Weiner. See what I mean? I bet you'll be nicer now. Or not.

“intimidate and punish a select number of Democratic legislators for daring to vote their conscience."
Since when are politicians supposed to vote their conscience? I thought they're supposed to vote the desires of their constituency.

Ban anyone in Colorado from voting who came from California and all of this would go away. Them damn commies are ruining the state.

Don't forget about Virginia in that list. At least the folks in CO, CA and NJ can at least say they aren't the home of the Declaration of Independence and The U.S. Constitution while voting blue. We are ruled by NOVA, Richmond, and Norfolk. All 3 bastions of liberal/progressive stupidity.

Sadly if the DemoNazis can win over 3 or 4 more counties in south Texas the Republicans will NEVER again put their candidate in the WH.

I had to laugh at Chickenpooper's comments/complaints about the gun-lobby donating funds to the recall effort, while in the meantime, he's raked in about 5 or 6 times as much money from the gun grabbers. So outside money is good, as long as it flows towards the governor's pet projects.

Gotta take exception to some of that. East beyond Denver metro the 150 miles to Kansas is hard core conservative. South of CO Springs also. West of Denver the liberals own much up into the ski resort areas.
This is mainly a Denver, Boulder, etc narrow I-25 corridor problem.

Mostly agree however I have relatives in the Springs and in my experience it is that from the Springs to just north of Pueblo is just as liberal if not more so than Boulder. As to I-25 corridor IMHO the problem is much wider and broader than initially thought.

The I-25 corridor, and most of the Ski towns are all very liberal. Aspen and Vail and Breckinridge are probably the worst. Breckinridge started the pot legalization trend. Telluride has it's film festival in the summer that fills the town full of liberals, in an otherwise very conservative part of the state, down near the 4 corners area.
The eastern part of Colorado is sparsely populated agriculture land, and IS very conservative. Unfortunately the Kommiefornians have moved into the state in droves to escape the high taxes and crime, but it just followed them there, who woulda thunk. Plus bringing along their looney left politics, which were already very popular in Boulder and Denver.

That isn't necessarily true. A man is supposed to vote for what's right, not what's popular. On rare occasions a politician knows more than his constituents. That's when they should vote their conscience. We don't live in a democracy where majority rules. We live in a representative republic. If majorities ruled minorities could be oppressed. It's your job to elect the man or woman who's views most closely mirrors yours.

You just made the point muggsy. Our political reps should always represent the views of their constituents. Period, no exceptions. As to knowing more, that is abject BS. Have you never heard of lobbyists, They are ostensibly there to educate the legislator when in reality they are there to buy a vote.

^^^^ This.
My US Rep actual does this. Regularly communicates with us regular folks and votes the way we see things. Makes me believe the system can and will work if we just elect honorable people with the guts to do the tough things.

We live in a representative republic, not a democracy. We as individuals don't vote on every issue. We elect people to represent us. If the majority of the people favor something that is harmful to them should their representative vote for it, because it's the will of the people? That's how guns are banned. You need to study civics, LZ, and learn more about how your government works. Democracy is three wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner.

In a representative republic such as the USA that sheep can be armed well enough to defend himself.
